Did you see @vaube's answer to your comment on the gallery, about sharing the window with you?

  • Yes, I actually commented on his latest art hoping he would see it.

I just found him on Renderhub.  I hope he sees my message to him.

    Thank you so much!!

On that OTHER website, take a look at STZ Small room 2.

You can say the word Renderosity. Especially if someone is asking for something.

That's a beautifully modelled set, but I always feel it's a shame having a deep window cill and inwards opening casement windows. It means you risk sweeping everything off the window cill as you open the casement.

My preference is for sash windows in bay windows like the one shown, even though the sashes are much more complex to make and model and don't always (or often) have very deep window cills.

My dad's place had outward opening casements to catch any passing breeze, and deep window cills with stuff on them, that the wind dropped on the floor with a smash & a crash. There's no winning, sometimes.

    Regards,

    Richard

mine all slide and have big sills a fat cat bottom fits on well

can't put things on them though as they get pushed off

  • I used to live in a house that had a wide window sill at the kitchen sink.  I had it so pretty with little tchotchkes on the sill.  We had a beautiful garden on the side of the house and I would look out that window while I washed dishes.

We sold our house after we retired.  I made me REALLY sad, however so did property taxes, insurance and homeownder dues.  We just could not afford all of that anymore.

We have a cute little rental now.  It's plenty big for us :)
