I'm pretty new to DS, but maybe the "Environment" settings?  E.g. "Dome & Scene", "Dome Only", "Scene Only"?  Or "Environment Intensity"?

movies fake darkness by using a blue filter

real dark scenes you wouldn't see anything

patches of yellow lighting with a sharp fall off helps with the illusion

Yes, using Photoshop for video frames would be tedious.  But if you're using a video editor, it should have a way of making a video segment lighter.  I use Vegas for such adjustments.

But yes, better to get it right in the 3D animation in the first place, rather than "fix it in post".  cheeky

  • thanks :) yeah i just got to play around with the lighting. I think it's hard though xD

Yes, I was confused by DAZ Studio for a long time (I'm a Carrara holdout).  But the great iRay renders and great iRay products made me bite the bullet and start to learn it.  It gets easier with time. cheeky
