I'm lucky in that I have 10+ years of pent up artistic urges that are clawing at my skull trying to get out. If you're wondering at my almost manic output.

That said, I'm NOT lucky in that I had 10 years of pining for some sort of artistic outlet and feeling... well, depressed.

Most of my inspiration comes from books and weird dreams lol.

I am in a similar situation.  I do not know what to do next.  I do not feel very original.   I want to make up a cute adorable animal that people can keep as pets and post pictures of all over the internet and I will call them Meows as that is their favorite word.  Wait Meows are real.

    How about goldfish?

Seriously I do not feel really original with everything.

Seriously I do not feel really original with everything.

Kulay, very little is totally original. First of all, Mother Nature started most everything that we do. Add to that 6,000 years (or more) of artists working in myriad media. The originality comes not in what you create, but how you pour your heart into it. You want to do meow-memes? Go for it. Create your scene, meow in bag, (been done... yup!) but, then SEE it from your world. Meows aren't just kitties, they're magical creatures capable of levitation (I have seen a tiny cat leap (levitate) 7 feet into the air to reach the top of a dresser. This same kitty does a wonderful impression of a Meerkat. So, Image: Zen Meow stands, crosses paws in front, and in a slow spiral levitates to the counter where nice tuna awaits.

Like all of us, put your twist, your vision, your heart onto that "same ole" kitty pic.

Then let go. We are all, typically, our own worst critics.

Have not done anything in a while, and it is very hard for me to get back into creating more art.  I have no inspiration or motive and it is tough to get the motivation to do anything.   I feel lost ..  it is depressing sad

what is worst?, not having inspiration for create and nevertheless being noticed?,

or my case, super creative and being ignored (even for my brother) ?

    ...bingo, you're lucky.

No, no.  :-)  I respectfully disagree.  No inspiration, no creative juices, and I'm not happy, ignored or not. ;-)
