If I went to Amazon or any other e-commerce website I would never see such a thing.

Perhaps it's more subtle.   I've heard that people go to Amazon with intent to purchase a specific item.  Then spend more time searching for something else to buy (that they originally never wanted) just to meet the purchase requirement for free shipping.

Sometimes there's a "free" item in the Daz store that I want really bad, but if there's nothing in the store I want that week, I'm not going to buy something just to get the item free.  In that case, it woud be better to just purchase that "free" item with the 30% off introductory price.

I do it all the time when I shop online so I can get the free shipping on some of the sites I use. just because I live in the middle of no where.  For example  sometimes I'll order things from walmart such as soap , hardware, clothing etc. . & if I didn't spend the $25 required to get the free shipping , I'll add some other things to my order to get the free shipping.  most of the time its stuff I will need shortly or stuff i use all the time so it I don't mind spending a little extra on things I may need later on. to get to save on the shipping.

OMG, I also live in the middle of nowhere, and get hit with this one all the time. I put the items I want in my cart, go to checkout, and the page says, "add $5 more to your order to get free shipping." Well my shipping charges are $8, so that could be a deal. The problem is the add on item is usually closer to $10 than $5, isn't it? Every single time.

Another store recently got me on shoes, with a buy one, get second at half off. The cashier told me, "You save 50% on your second pair of shoes." I answered, "Or I spent 50% more than I meant to, because I only need the one pair." In a year's time, I'm sure I'll be happy for the brand new pair of comfy shoes stashed in my closet, heh.

I think Cris has the right of it for shopping here. If you want the item and the price is good, go for it. If you want the item, and buying another item reduces the cart total enough to make them both more attractive, go for it. If the current sale doesn't work for you, there is a really good chance there will be a different one next week.

So I want Face Weight, Bend Morphs, Aging Morphs, Stalker Girl, Tweens, Satsuki, Kumar, Baby, Glute and Breast Movement, Stefan and Growing Up all for Genesis and that's $161.
Now I see that if I add Old World Knight for G2F and Sir Robin ($4.80) I can get the lot for $53 but that's wrong 'cos it sends the message that I'm happy to buy G2 content.
    So I pay full price.
    Got to stick to principles . . . . . . Yeah, right. LOL
