...well, the next D+ sale won't be for about 5 months. That's about the only time when new release D+ items can be used as "buy-ins".
30% is still better than nothing. Not interested in Première, too rich for my budget and I have no interest in character bundles even for free. If they also included, environment, architecture, and prop bundles that might interest me more but those are rarely DO content.
I didn't want to sell you premier, just thought it might console you a bit to hear, that the sale wasn't THAT spectacular
Personally, even at great sales I try not to spend more than 20$ in order to survive DAZ psychology, lol.
...no doubt it iincluded some D+ items on my wishlist since it apparently set the entire store to "Only +" (though not when I clicked on it). I would have bought the 7.99 D+ items that were on my list (which with the three tokens that were set to expire at midnight) would have saved me 10 USD.
The thing is, except for clothing, which tends to plummet in value once DAZ stops focusing on a specific figure generation, most of the other types of products that you mention are "evergreen" items that can be used with any generation of figure, so there's no real incentive to blow those items out the door at clearance prices. Even when DAZ is pitching Genesis 11 in 5 years, sets from vendors like Stonemason will still be in demand. Conversely, since DAZ's model is not unlike a flea market, they're limited by what the PAs decide to make, and a lot of those items are... let's just say a bit odd, like all those weird animals we were getting as PC+ items for a while or, in one of my pet peeves, items that would be great everyday sets except they've ruined them by only releasing a post-apocalyptic destroyed or cyberpunked version, or the vendor is under the impression we're running with a professional render farm and made the product a massive resource hog.
...yeah, environments, architecture, props, and vehicles (land, sea, air, space) are pretty much what I look for these days. as G9 for the most part just doesn't float my boat.
As to clothing, Riversoft Art's clothing converters do a very good job compared to just a straight autofit and increase the mileage for clothing content from for older figures For cross fitting hair I usually manually fit and parent to preserve movement and styling morphs.(been doing that since the Gen4 days).
Is it just me? Or is this kind of odd thematically?
Get Daz Big Cat 2 FREE* with any "Adrenaline" New Release
If I saw a big cat coming at me, I might get an adrenaline rush.
Yes, very, especially given that the basic BC2 isn't even set up for iray... but even so, it's not half as weird as a race car, uniform, helmet, and pit area all done in hot PINK??? Are we being punked or is this the BarbieTM race set?
As for the cat thing... my guess is that there was something else that was going to be used as a promo that wasn't available in time.
It's actually is according to the readme, but Daz never updated it's shop's page for some reasons:
https://docs.daz3d.com/public/read_me/index/16000_16999/16288/start
Both Alpine and Racing Bulls (or whatever they're called this week) have raced pink cars in recent years, with matching overalls for the drivers. It's just a colour.
...maybe its for the comeback of Penelope Pitstop from the old Wacky Races cartoon?
My main objection for this set is the perfect textures on everything gives it a toon look. Car racing is a pretty dirty environment with all the smoke, oil etc, and everything having that freshly created mint look kills any realism. Yes there are dirt shaders around, but that is a lot of work for a large set like this.
I'm still part way through my first cup of coffee so I may have missed it, but I can't find a promo image of a driver in the car. This is important because at least one other DAZ race car has the driver towering over the car when seated as though it were an amusement park ride. Yes, I suppose I could hide the driver's body, but there's also the matter of scale.
There is kind of this (though you only can see a helmet).
I am a bit surprised that it looks like the wheels have 5 bolts each, so they are not going to set any pit stop records with that.
It has a hint of purple and fluorescence, and at first glance it reminded me of Splatoon.
My first impression of this race car's color scheme was that it was a fictional near future rather than a modern realism, a fact confirmed by the strange buildings surrounding the racetrack.

Thanks, Felis I missed this in the promo. I think the odds are the driver does fit in the cockpit properly. Yes, the 5 lug bolts aren't accurate, LOL. Still, this looks like a quality asset, and I'm glad it has a kind of "near future" aspect to it as noted by AsuCafe. This form of racing can become dated looking pretty quickly.
...hmm, just got the email for the latest sale and when I click the link I get the dreaded Daz Chameleon page. Tried it in Chrome and got the same result so it has nothing to do with Firefox.
01:00 here (west coast) which is almost 2 hours since the store changeover.
They apparently seem to be having some serious issues as of late.
Be aware, today's member deals coupons apply to gift cards.
Thanks for reminding me, I hadn't noticed at all, and it's great that it doesn't bundle new products like before.
I've been getting some QG items once a week (usually on a Sunday, after those items sat in my cart for a week in hopes of some good deal and building a bigger cart and after I culled some of them), but the total Daz got out of me this month is about $13. I haven't even used my membership coupons yet.
But I won't complain. After all those sales in the past months, I'm happy to spend less and render more. I got so much good stuff that I needed, and I'm more excited about the art I'm doing with i than the sales.
I already got about 20 products from Chris Cox here from DAZ and a couple more from when he still sold at Rendo. He's one of my most favourite artists and his stuff is worth each penny. And yes, I got quite a few of them for $ 1.99 each, but also from other sales.
I really like Chris Cox clothing as well, and have a lot of their items. I'm glad they've started to include G9.
And I'm glad they still are inclusive towards G8, which allows me to add their new products to my wishlist.
I I will pick Outlet over today's Clothing Store. You know, where I can buy older stuff at similar price points without buying Debut New items I have no interest in. The only DNR I like at all is Lala-rabbit's Abaya set. It is gorgeous but is not something I see myself using. alas. Sometimes I hate being practical or realistic about my hobbies...
Once again, a promotion manages to annoy me:
NOW two new releases over $1 give me 10% off and 15% on giftcards - just an hour or so after I bought the two new Daz+-items for 8 tokens, and while in need of a restock of my store credits.
Bad timing.
So... no new investion for two more expensive items that I do not really need here, and if I run out of credit, I will definitely spend less.
Just like it would have been two hours ago, but now I am annoyed about it. Brilliant.
He still sells at Rendo. A lot of really great stuff at both stores.
Yet another day of "Lots of X on sale, except G9 Xes." I feel for folks still using older stuff feeling left out most days.
Decent day to use up that DO coupon if you have it sitting around, still... had 4 tokens expiring tonight, so I knocked three things off my WL for the low low price of free.
