I always wait until the very last minute to use that coupon, you never know when DAZ will drop a bundle that you might want more than what's been in there all month.   ;)

Or you can end up in the situation I've been all too often where DAZ doesn't have anything I want in the selection at the end of the month and I don't like the last item they drop.  As it is, there's exactly one bundle that I don't have (the G9 centaur bundle) that I now keep in reserve (on account of the fact that after all these years I have yet to use any of the horsey parts of G3 and G8 centaur bundle items that I already own), and now generally use my PCoup on the first bundle they drop each month that I like.

I've picked a few bundles only for a hair or clothing item that I wanted when that does happen. The selections in the past few months have definitely felt less varied and new than when this offer started, but I can't complain about getting a character and some accessories free each month.

Well, they have fewer items in them, so it's not a surprise they feel like less.  A few years back a bundle for the same price would include two outfits and two hairs versus 1 each now plus a pose pack.

I thought she was a really big gnome.

That said, at least her bundles are actually composed of "practical" clothing and props that are all on a unified theme with a refreshing lack of skimpwear.... though those "camping poses" are a bit of a joke.

I don't quite understand what's wrong with the camping poses. Finally a set that shows a woman in natural postures and not in grotesque twists that are supposed to be 'sexy'.

    Well done, Ensary!

Hmm... let's see.  A couple of poses sitting on a sofa (no explanation given in either this or the camper set as to how all of those sofas somehow found themselves in the middle of the woods.)  A couple of poses of sitting in chairs.  A few generic standing positions. One working at a kitchen counter,  Two sitting on steps.  One lying on a bed.  And two sitting on the ground.  Of the whole batch, the only one that's reasonably specific to the camping experience is the one of sitting in front of and reacting to a fire, the rest are just "everywhere" poses.  No building a fire, cooking over a fire, putting out a fire, eating on the ground, gathering firewood, pitching a tent, holding a flashlight, roasting marshmellows, drinking from a canteen, carrying a lantern, rolling out a sleeping bag, hiking with a staff and/or backpack, or, really, any action that is specific to camping outdoors.  Note that there's nothing wrong with any of the poses that makes them "bad," per se, and if it had been called "trailer" poses it would be one thing, but except for that one they're all totally generic and if I was looking for poses for a campsite scene and searched for "camping," this really doesn't have much to do with many common camping activities.

They are using https://www.daz3d.com/xi-campsite , caravan camping on a prepared site rather than camping in a tent in the woods.

She's okay to me. If the next character bundle at the end of the month doesn't interest me more, I'll use my coupon on Wendy. I like how she mixes with other character morphs, and I like all the outfits and other stuff in the bundles.

But that Autumn Hiking Outfit? Maybe if she wears it all together it's suitable for an autumn hike. The Outdoorsy Outfit is much more appropriate for hiking, in my opinion. If I wore anything like the Autumn Hiking Outfit on any hikes I've taken in the Rocky Mountains, those leggings would get shredded. Maybe they're fine on a flat trek on a paved path...

And again with an outfit designed for extreme sports with no helmet? Seriously. Someone needs to make a ski/snowboard helmet. I really like the Snowboard Outfit and will probably buy it, but the lack of a helmet is disappointing. I'll have to pull one from a different outfit and hope the goggles will fit over it. Sorry for the rant, but I live in Colorado and have been on the ski slopes. If you don't wear a helmet, you're just asking for a head injury (or worse).

Decent bundles, though! We'll see what the end of the month brings. laugh

I agree. I avoid the mountains if I can, terrified of heights. But even I know from watching local news how dangerous it can be to head off into a hiking trail that is within the 6000 foot range of Denver. You can easily run afoul of a wild animal or a human predator, or unstable ground or a rockfall. We are hammered with warnings to not go into the mountains without adequate clothing regardless of the time of year, food/water, first aid, phones, avalanche safety equipment, emergency supplies and clothing. This is also encouraged if just driving in our cars/trucks into the mountains or around the plains during winter. Weather can change rapidly and without warning. That is how deaths occur. The Autumn outfit is more appropriate to the Cherry Creek Trail in Denver which is totally urban. But you would still want pepper spray, water, phone, and preferably a running buddy. Especially since at one location where I used to run, a missing woman's body was finally found. It was at the end of about a 1 to 1.5 miles of dirt road where you might not see a horse, bike or person for over 15 minutes if you were walking. I don't walk that way anymore. But even on the Trail I have had it go from 50F to 30F in just a few minutes as a cold front moved in fast. And I only had shorts, a short sleeve shirt and running jacket. I got home with bluish skin. We are at 5380 feet here.

That snowboarder helmet is critical, I agree. We had three of them start an avalanche this week, with one being swept up in it and being caught by a group of trees. They did have the safety equipment and were able to get help for their friend.

The camper, well I have no idea what a rich camper type might want or what camp sites offer, but couches? Seriously? Rent a hotel room if you can't rough it and use an approved site. Don't start fires that will create a forest wild fire. We don't want them.

Now after all this, I do appreciate to no end the outfits, if they are kept in the city, for warm clothing during winter and the shoes. Those were excellent. But they need the look of being broken in first before they hit the trails.

On shoes in general, I have noticed a trend by the DO PAs to listen to us to give us more realistic clothing and shoes. If you don't believe me, take a look at your DO bundles from G3/7 on up and you will see the change in G9 to what we have been asking for.

Love the mountains. Live in Colorado. Hike all around through 'wild' trails, rocky places in utah, around 14,000ft peaks, also trails in oregon and washington, arizona, etc. (not cliff climbing mind you, but trails....)  and I havee to tell you I actually do wear leggings and shorts alot while hiking. They don't get shredded. And a tank top in summer.

However on the no helmet bit... Just pointing out you are looking in the store that also features bikini armor, and boob armor that would deflect weapons right into the heart. Dead as a doornail warrior gal. So this is not surprising that looks come before safety. Also all the 'sexy cowgirl' looks. Rofl. Have they worked with cows? Thousand+ pound, animals that are anything but tame, that bite, and kick, and use those fancy horns... That are kept in pastures with cactus often and cheat grass, and thistles, and the bushes like sage brush that aren't really something you want to scrape by in short shorts. not to mention barbed wire... I'm actually joining you in your rant briefly. I'm just not surprised. I really WANT real clothes, that I might wear. I would not be caught dead in most of the stuff they have in the store these days.

And it seems to get worse with each generation of figure... people in the DAZIverse do not dress like people in the real world, in part because people in the real world are trying to hide things like beer bellies, muffin tops, cellulite, etc..

As far as the snow helmet thing goes, though, I find it funny that TV commercials are now forced to put diclaimers on commercials that show people doing reckless things iwith an advisory "not to imitate", whereas a large percentage of DAZ products seem to be designed for the purposes of "thinning the herd."

I wouldn't dress in alot of those outfits if I was physically perfect. It's just ... ugh... But that's me. ha ha ha. When I was a teen/early 20s I wouldn't have and I was a lot closer to 'perfect' then.

Also, though I'm premier, I have no option to use my coupon on Wendy. I haven't used it this month. It's available. She's just not an option. I was thinking about using it. But it's not a thing. So I guess I wait.

    Some tests.

Her HD vs the Kat (right), who comes free with genesis 9 essentials.

    Close up.

With Wilma. I get some faint Gillian Anderson vibes.

    Big versions attached.

  • Attention: Wendy 9 is now one of the Premier free bundle options. Daz3d often takes their time adding a new bundle to this category; usually it is later the same day. It also often takes even longer, sometimes a few days, for the Premier Exclusive alternate (Wilma in this case) to be available to those members. I can't tell if Wilma is available yet as I am not in Premier.

Speaking of Wilma, what do people think of her? In the promo on the Wendy figure (not bundle) page I thought she looked like Cat Grant from the Supergirl TV series.

I like her a lot. My new favorite realistic G9 character. And she has a snowboarding getup so that's a bit plus.

Turns out that people grumbling on internet don't fully reflect the actual customer base.

Its been a massive shock to Sales Managers in last few years!

Turns out that people in the threads on new products here are not actually discussing whether the product will sell or not, but rather, if they personally like it. Hint: usage of words like 'I like / don't like'  winkdevil

I think what we need are some Inuit characters within a freedom fighter bundle. The snowy landscape will be hard to render, I expect.

Well, let's face it, very little on the internet is a reliable source of anything as almost all online forum threads, store reviews, social media groups, stores, "newssites", etc., etc., can be pretty heavily skewed these days, both because the vast majority of people can't be bothered to actually read or post anything no matter how positive or negative their opinions and/or their knowledge of the subject, giving the postings of the minority who do a much higher apparent profile no matter how far off they are from the statistical norm, while the things that do make it online can often be heavily weeded to conform to the hosting bodies liking, and that's before we get to things like advertisements masquerading as news,  or even out and out BS whose only purpose is to serve as clickbait (sorry, if you've taken one of those online IQ tests that claim you've got a 120 IQ if you can answer 12 questions, but knowing who played Jethro on the Beverly Hillbillies TV series* isn't really a verifiable indicator of mental acuity.)  And yes, now that a huge amount of data online is being generated by AI engines instead of real humans, which only samples the garbage that's already out there and then reassembles it in a half-baked fashion, it's only getting worse.

*It was Max Baer Jr., by the way.
