It's been 17 minutes and no one has said "meh, another white girl"!

I am wondering since Peter Pan is in the public domain why they didn't take that arc
I thought she was a really big gnome.
That said, at least her bundles are actually composed of "practical" clothing and props that are all on a unified theme with a refreshing lack of skimpwear.... though those "camping poses" are a bit of a joke.
Her head shape doesn't seem to have changed much from the original shape in Genesis 9 Feminine.
Actually, Peter Pan isn't completely in the public domain. The original book version is now PD in the U.S, but the play is still copyrighted in the UK due to a special arrangement that transfers royalties to the Great Ormand Street Hospital in perpetuity, while many of the classic costume designs and other visual elements, most notably those from the Disney animated version, are still protected by trademarks and later copyrights.
I like the practical clothing as well, just wish it came with some morphs, like opening the back pack. The camper looks nice, too. But I have tons of things and clothes like these, and the figure is uninteresting to me, so - pass.
Wendy herself looks rather nice, though not an unusual or very original character. I like her face, and rather like the mix example with Zahara in the promo pics.
The themed content looks quite good, but is not something I have any use for.
I like her! Her face shape is different from the previous characters. Her skin looks nice too. Hopefully, the nasolabial lines can be removed easily.
Hard pass. Wendy is, well, Business As Usual for Daz. I like that there's a theme (as much as you can get with effectively 4 items) to the character bundle and not just the add-on but that's it.
I like the looks of Wilma, but alas, she's Premier exclusive.
Otherwise, I have no interest in the bundles as they contain all the contemporary stuff I have no use for. It's nice to see that the whole bundle is themed and somewhat uniform vs. some random outfits etc. I'm sure users with outdoorsy and contemporary renders will find something for themselves.
Wendy 9 is pleasantly realistic. A 'normal' pretty face, without pumped-up lips or other surgery, but with beautiful eyes. Her body is also individual and does not follow the oversexualised hourglass cliché
Unfortunately, for me, if there's one thing I have in abundance and absolutely don't need, it's models of young white women (now it's finally said, SnowSultan ;-)). I also have no need for snowboarding or camping equipment or the 750th version of the current uniform hairstyle. So I'll wait until the end of the month with my Premier coupon.
I don't quite understand what's wrong with the camping poses. Finally a set that shows a woman in natural postures and not in grotesque twists that are supposed to be 'sexy'.
Well done, Ensary!
She's okay to me. If the next character bundle at the end of the month doesn't interest me more, I'll use my coupon on Wendy. I like how she mixes with other character morphs, and I like all the outfits and other stuff in the bundles.
But that Autumn Hiking Outfit? Maybe if she wears it all together it's suitable for an autumn hike. The Outdoorsy Outfit is much more appropriate for hiking, in my opinion. If I wore anything like the Autumn Hiking Outfit on any hikes I've taken in the Rocky Mountains, those leggings would get shredded. Maybe they're fine on a flat trek on a paved path...
And again with an outfit designed for extreme sports with no helmet? Seriously. Someone needs to make a ski/snowboard helmet. I really like the Snowboard Outfit and will probably buy it, but the lack of a helmet is disappointing. I'll have to pull one from a different outfit and hope the goggles will fit over it. Sorry for the rant, but I live in Colorado and have been on the ski slopes. If you don't wear a helmet, you're just asking for a head injury (or worse).
Decent bundles, though! We'll see what the end of the month brings.
I lol'ed ^^
White Girl Autumn meme but snowing.
There are more than a few issues with the poses. They are, as you say, not sexy. As for 'natural', yes, but they are not really relaxed. The character looks a bit wooden and a bit uncomfortable in a few - promo 2 & 6 (both sides). I'm happy to forgive those. But the Promo images look very rushed. No use of dForce to drape the shorts, shirt & top when the figure is not vertical. Look at the right side of Promo6 (linked in the image below), the shorts & shirt under the character are inside the sheets. Look at the left side of promo6, the shorts poke through the jacket.
That's rushed. It could be a lot better with a bit of time.
Right side of Promo 7. Right hand.. fingers are inside the caravan outer sheeting. Left side: If she stood like that for more than a second or two, she'd fall face first into the stove because her centre of gravity is forward of her front foot. The pose is good for an animation where her left foot goes forward after that frame, but less good for a still pose.
Promo 8, left side, shoe soles embedded in the planks. Right side, fingers of her right hand don't seem to touch the bench.
None of these items are severe criticisms of the poses, but do note that the promos were done in a hurry and could have been better.
Regards,
Richard
Hmm... let's see. A couple of poses sitting on a sofa (no explanation given in either this or the camper set as to how all of those sofas somehow found themselves in the middle of the woods.) A couple of poses of sitting in chairs. A few generic standing positions. One working at a kitchen counter, Two sitting on steps. One lying on a bed. And two sitting on the ground. Of the whole batch, the only one that's reasonably specific to the camping experience is the one of sitting in front of and reacting to a fire, the rest are just "everywhere" poses. No building a fire, cooking over a fire, putting out a fire, eating on the ground, gathering firewood, pitching a tent, holding a flashlight, roasting marshmellows, drinking from a canteen, carrying a lantern, rolling out a sleeping bag, hiking with a staff and/or backpack, or, really, any action that is specific to camping outdoors. Note that there's nothing wrong with any of the poses that makes them "bad," per se, and if it had been called "trailer" poses it would be one thing, but except for that one they're all totally generic and if I was looking for poses for a campsite scene and searched for "camping," this really doesn't have much to do with many common camping activities.
Turns out that people grumbling on internet don't fully reflect the actual customer base.
Its been a massive shock to Sales Managers in last few years!
No point stating the obvious. Now that you have, I need not bother. Thanks!
I think you're right, Richard and Cybersox. I guess I didn't look closely enough. Yes, it was obviously done in a hurry. Ensary's promos are usually better. I'm probably so bored with all the “sexy” poses by now that I react enthusiastically to anything that looks even halfway normal...
The character looks good but doesn't fill a gap in my library (does that get around saying it?)
I like the clothes and most of the other products are at least useful. If I was Premier, I'd pick the bundles up and feel like I'd gotten some of the better bundles of recent times. But I'm not Premier and won't be rushing out to get a membership. Maybe if I wait a whole year, there'll be a bundle in the selection I would sub to get?
I must admit I didn't want to criticise them either. I'm an advocate of 'normal' poses myself. I have recently tried to create some 'model' poses and find them very hard to do - partly, I think, because with all my poses I model all the poses myself beforehand to see how they work. And 'model' poses cause all sorts of disturbing noises from my hips. Furthermore, I'm not as flexible as a 20-something fashion model. So, I suspect I shall have to retreat from my foray into the world of high fashion and admit it's not for me. Regards, Richard
I agree. I avoid the mountains if I can, terrified of heights. But even I know from watching local news how dangerous it can be to head off into a hiking trail that is within the 6000 foot range of Denver. You can easily run afoul of a wild animal or a human predator, or unstable ground or a rockfall. We are hammered with warnings to not go into the mountains without adequate clothing regardless of the time of year, food/water, first aid, phones, avalanche safety equipment, emergency supplies and clothing. This is also encouraged if just driving in our cars/trucks into the mountains or around the plains during winter. Weather can change rapidly and without warning. That is how deaths occur. The Autumn outfit is more appropriate to the Cherry Creek Trail in Denver which is totally urban. But you would still want pepper spray, water, phone, and preferably a running buddy. Especially since at one location where I used to run, a missing woman's body was finally found. It was at the end of about a 1 to 1.5 miles of dirt road where you might not see a horse, bike or person for over 15 minutes if you were walking. I don't walk that way anymore. But even on the Trail I have had it go from 50F to 30F in just a few minutes as a cold front moved in fast. And I only had shorts, a short sleeve shirt and running jacket. I got home with bluish skin. We are at 5380 feet here.
That snowboarder helmet is critical, I agree. We had three of them start an avalanche this week, with one being swept up in it and being caught by a group of trees. They did have the safety equipment and were able to get help for their friend.
The camper, well I have no idea what a rich camper type might want or what camp sites offer, but couches? Seriously? Rent a hotel room if you can't rough it and use an approved site. Don't start fires that will create a forest wild fire. We don't want them.
Now after all this, I do appreciate to no end the outfits, if they are kept in the city, for warm clothing during winter and the shoes. Those were excellent. But they need the look of being broken in first before they hit the trails.
On shoes in general, I have noticed a trend by the DO PAs to listen to us to give us more realistic clothing and shoes. If you don't believe me, take a look at your DO bundles from G3/7 on up and you will see the change in G9 to what we have been asking for.
Like the character. Just wonder if it will be possibe to get Wendy with the free monthly Premier character bundle coupon.
I was considering these poses, but now that it's been pointed out, I see they do look a little stiff.
I know that you're not criticising the poses, but the promos – just like me.
Creating poses is a very demanding task, and both you and Ensary are really good at it. How often have I despaired of positioning a figure in a halfway realistic way! But while there are obviously dozens of people who fabricate “model poses” or “sexy” poses, there are only a few who can really pull off realistic “normal” and relaxed poses. Surely there are so few because “sexy” poses, no matter how ridiculous or unrealistic they may be, sell better.
Haha, I'm in the same boat, I have more young white women characters than I will probably ever use. I didn't say that to criticize though because Timbales is right; another white girl will be a better seller than a heavy-set Latino man (although that would be a fun character too). The only thing I meant to criticize are those who always need to rush in here to say "I AM NOT BUYING THIS!" ;)
I always wait until the very last minute to use that coupon, you never know when DAZ will drop a bundle that you might want more than what's been in there all month. ;)
