DazStudio - real Volumetrics/ Atmosphere?

Does Dazstudio support real volumetrics? I thought it would be in Iray but no, if I could get volumetrics and fog I wouldn't need C4D, is there a plug in or external render engine that can do it? I would settle for a plug in to import figures to C4D because the default options for Daz are useless and too time consuming.

Both 3Delight and Iray support volumetrics... after a fashion. In 3Delight, applying the UberVolume shader to a figure will produce, depending on the settings, a convincing smoke, fog, or mist. A recent product that offers spectacular results using this shader is Marshian's Above The Fog, which also works (less spectacularly) in Iray. For Iray, Sickleyield made a great tutorial explaining the trick: basically, you need to apply a water (or other liquid) shader, eliminate all glossiness and play around with SSS till you get the results you want (as far as I remember, I am a mostly 3Delight guy). Both engines require that your camera be outside of the volume in question, and the other limitation is that UberVolume doesn't play that nice with intersecting volumes with the same shader (basically, it shows as intersecting transparency planes). Of course, it may be that you are talking about something completely different and I am missing the point, if so, I apologize for the wall of text (suffer, mortals, for it is I, the bane of TL;DR!).

Could you post a link or image that depicts what you're looking for?

I'd like to recreate this scene from Cinema 4D, The fog and lighting are so important to set an atmosphere, I think Iray is the way to go but I don't see a way to achieve these effects in Dazstudio without limited results.

Hi morganzax_be2b63055c and thanks Uthgard. Since my response has to do with AtmoCam I have posted a render and response in the commercial thread for that product. Thanks for posting this example, I already had a scene in 3DL that was pretty close in composition.
