Refund Time?
Hey,
Not sure if this is the best place to put in a post about this topic, so if its wrong, please move it to the right forum type.
I put in a refund request last week, Tuesday, or Wednesday, I believe, just before the New Year and I was told that it had been submitted for review and that once it was done being reviewed, it would be back in my PayPal within 3-7 days. The last I've heard anything from anyone about this was last Friday. I know the Daz Help Centre doesn't work on weekends, so I waited until Monday, expecting to hear back from them then, but nothing. So, I put in another ticket yesterday morning (UK time), to try to get an update on my situation, but got no response, and now, on Wednesday morning, I've still not gotten any response. I know about the time difference, which is why I wait until the end of my day to check my emails, and I've gotten no reply yet.
I don't ask for refunds for orders often, so I'm not totally sure the timescales involved, usually and how long it actually takes usually. I'm also aware that due to the New Year, and when I put my refund request in originally, that it would of possibly been a very busy time for Daz due to all the sales, and other people probably were putting in lots of their own tickets too. So, they're probably quite busy.
I just would like an update on my situation though, and was wondering if its common to not get responses for a few days on open tickets? Especially around the times of huge sales? The reason I put in for a refund was because the order that I tried to do on New Year's Eve had to be 'reviewed' by PayPal, something that never happened to me before, and at some point, my order went from 'Pending' to 'Failed' and so I assumed that the money would just go right back into my PayPal soon. So, I bought myself a gift card, using the exact same amount of money so I could get the products I tried to buy with my other order, and I did, thinking that my first order, due to it being 'Failed' would automatically be refunded to me. But, during that night (I think this was the 31st of December), it suddenly went through and Daz got my money from PayPal, how it went from 'Failed' to 'Success' I have no idea. So, I've basically been doubled charged, so I put in a ticket to get a refund for the first, originally 'Failed' order as I've bought the same set of products twice.
Since last Friday, I haven't heard back from anyone about this. All I was told that it would be reviewed by Daz staff and then it would take 3-7 business days to go back into my account.
Is this amount of time normal? Cause according to others, refunds usually take only 2 days to go through. Again, I get that due to the New Year and all the sales, it might be delayed, or something though.
Any thoughts?
Thanks

Richard Haseltine said it's not a good idea to open a new ticket.
Regarding the time needed to review your refund demand, it only happened once to one of mine and it took two working days for the review to be processed, at the end of August 2025. Overall, while my refund demands are usually processed fast, sometime the same day, some of them did take a couple of days to be processed.
If you opened your ticket before the 30 days refund window closed, I would not worry too much: between the new year and the coupons bug, the sale support team likely have a higher than usual workload.
...and also with the winter illness wave, there might be more folk out than usual, too, either because they've caught it or they're caring for a family member.
Hey, everyone
Thanks for your replies. I assumed it would have something to do with the New Years and it being winter in general.
I didn't want to seem impatient, I have no problem waiting, and waiting longer than usual if need be. Its just that I don't do refunds often and I'm a bit nervous about it, hoping it comes through. I hope that no one is unwell though, and if they are, that they get better soon. I'm from the UK, so I don't know if there's any particularly bad flus going about in the area where Daz is, I hope they are all alright over there.
I'll just wait and see what happens. Hopefully, it comes through soon.
Thank you for your replies. Sorry for opening another ticket, I just got a bit freaked out at the lack of response and wanted an update.
Thanks.
Yes, especially around the time of huge sales, and even more so when those sales also coincide with a protracted time off and thus a large back-log to work through when the team return to work.
Totally understandable! Tech errors happen often, and it's hard not to wonder if something just disappeared into the abyss when there's no tracking system or frame of reference for wait times.
The US is getting rather thoroughly hammered by the flu right now... almost every state is at the "high" or "very high" levels, with many of them setting records for cases and hospitalizations. Apparently it's a particularly nasty strain this year, and with kids going back to school after winter break and holiday gatherings, I expect it's going to get worse before it gets better. So while I don't have any insider info on how the Daz folk are doing, I wouldn't be surprised if everyone (them included) winds up shorter staffed than usual until things settle down somewhat.
In my experience account credit refunds are typically next day, refunds to payment method take a few days
Just an FYI, CS is very backed up atm, so tickets may take a bit longer to get through than normal, but they are working as fast as they can to get through them all.
