New Year's DAZ-olutions?

I am never good with 1 January resolutions so I started some 'non-resolutions' last year. With my doctor monitoring me, I have been losing weight on average 5lbs a month. Bought some hiking sticks to support my back so I can get back to walking again. But a new health issue has popped up and my energy is getting wiped out with exhaustion. Hopefully tests this coming week will determine the actual cause and an action plan. And dental copays up to $4000.00 for two procedures are a hit. And for DAZ, I pushed to render that backlog of characters who needed initial rendering, and by doing that I worked with lighting sets, new backdrops, and environments I have bought. And don't forget clothing and hair and makeup (which is something I often ignore or prefer not to use). But the past few months have worn down my rendering as the sales have really taken a toll on my actual time for working on Daz Studio, except for metadata and thumbnails for new items. My purchases will be down. Wishlist will grow.

    Lots of streamlining:

    • Complete my asset cataloging (and automatic tools for that) until asset management no longer inhibits artmaking.
    • Reinstall Studio, organize plugins, customize the default interface.
    • Consolidate content libraries, move them to faster disks.
    • Uninstall clutter.

    Improve my Studio workflows for:

    • Fun renders
    • Character design
    • Blender animation
    • Ai images/video base layers
    • Game engines (Unreal and Unity)

    Extra goals:

    • Create character morphs I need for visual novel characters.
    • Explore simple clothing design with Blender and Marvelous Designer.

    Ha!

Is "FaceGen" in any way related to "Face Transfer", I wonder.

I think one of the most maddening things about A.I. is its apparent ability to copy certain painterly styles. I don't even want to go there...

Not to derail the thread, but if you want to look at FaceGen/Face Transfer, check out my post on the subject of character generation in my signature. I know that one of the causes of my malaise is my struggle to create characters and the sense that no one else anywhere is interested in the subject.

I probably need to look into external harddrives.  One for my desktop and one portable one for my laptop.

No, it used to be on sale here and does a middling job that shoould be improved with Genesis 9 higher polygon count but I don't know for certain. The old vesion already did a decent job on some celebrities but nothing like a handdown sculpt by a professional. I  think it would do an easily recgonizable Gollum.
