DAZ Settings
I realize this is likely mentioned SOMEWHERE, but for whatever reason, I can't find a search field in the forums, so I'm posting my own plea for help.
My rig info: GPU: Nvidia RTX 5080 (16GB Vram) * CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D (4.7 GHz base) * Ram: 64GB DDR5 (6000 MT/s)
Changed DAZ Studio Render Settings (Everything else set to default, only changed these based on google/youtube research):
Progressive Rendering: Max Samples: 1000 * Max Time (secs): 0 * Rendering Quality Enable: Off *
Filtering: Noise Degrain Filtering: 1 * Post Denoiser Available: On * Post Denoiser Enable: On
Hardware: I TRIED for hours to get Iray preview and Renders to work with just my GPU checked under Photoreal Mode and Interactive (Biased) Mode, and unchecking "Allow CPU Fallback" to force use of the RTX 5080 over the Ryzen7 9800. Still, it simply keeps trying and failing to load Iray in the viewport and produces an entirely empty render...
All of THAT^^^^^^ above said, how the heck are people getting 2k/4k renders done in half an hour to an hour? My system is taking 1.5-2 hours for a very basic 2k image (low-poly env with 1 G9 model), 2-4 hours for a 4k image, and the one time I went to render an 8k, I swear to God my computer started laughing at me for the next 7 hours. What am I doing wrong in my settings, or is my hardware just garbage for this, and I need the best of the best to render in DAZ?
Any help would be greatly appreciated. I'm at my wits' end trying to figure this out, and the few attempts at troubleshooting with AI have resulted in even more rage. Thank you for reading and for any help you might offer.

RTX 50xx series are only supported in the Alpha/studio 2025 build.
If you're not using that, it'll only render on cpu.
EDIT:
Diabling CPU fallback, simply means nothing will be rendered, if the gpu isn't recognized, or the vram is exceeded.
Render times are going to depend on the scene composition. The more 'complex' a scene, the longer this will take. Complex in this context isn't simply the number of figures in a scene, but everything, total geometry(*figures, hair, clothing, geografts, coffee cups), shaders/materials, lights, render settings etc.
Changing certain settings, such as resolution can cause render times to increase massively.
Which version of Daz Studio are you using? 50xx cards don't work for Iray rendering in DS4, only DS2025 supports them.
I feel reeeeeeally stupid saying this, but I was not aware there was another DAZ Studio. I downloaded the one I saw after subscribing to it. Says 4.24 Premier. Guess I need to google "DS2025 download" lol Is that really where my issues are coming from? I'm using an old studio that just doesn't use the 5080? I imagine that'd explain why my rig starts smoking and shaking the house when it goes to render if it's only using the CPU for everything.
There are currently 3 versions of studio available.
The 4.24.0.4 is the current version of the stable/general release as well as the beta, and ds2025 is third and currently in an alpha state.
4.24 isn't able to use 50xx seres cards, due to changes on nvidia's side.
The alpha can use the 50xx series, but you won't have support from many plugins and it may not be particularly stable.
The general recommendation is to setup scenes in 4.24 and render in 2025.
You're both wizards for letting me know I was bottlenecking due to software that wasn't using the 5080; thank you for that, VERY much.
And "The general recommendation is to setup scenes in 4.24 and render in 2025" sounds like some sage wisdom I'll be taking advantage of, thank you again.
Update: After finding the directions on how to get DS2025 through the installer and doing so, I unchecked the CPU in hardware, and now, instead of Iray previews taking 5-10 minutes, it's like 1 second. I imagine this means render time will also be drastically reduced. I'm almost angry at how wrong I've been doing this and how much time I've wasted on super-long render times lol. Thank you both again so very much, y'all rock!
