Loading scene has something in it that isn't there...

I am getting a Missing File message that says it can't find ".../data/brian/Mallorie GF8/Mallroie GF8 Figure Prop Assets/Genesis8Female.dsf".  The Mallorie figure is actually a Genesis 3F model.

Now at one point I did try to move it into a G8F but that failed and I am happy to just use the G3F but I keep getting the message everytime I load the model.

How do I get rid of this?

Thanks.

What is the full error text from the log, Help > Troubleshooting > View Log?

Is it a scene or a character you are trying to load?

It seems to be connected to a character but it doesn't really exist...

  • It doesn't say could not find, it says could not read - that would mean the file is there but not, for some reason, readable (not the same, I think, as an internal error once it is open).

I thnk what has happened here is I  tried to create a new character from a GF3 one into GF8.

The character failed to convert the way I wanted it to and so I deleted the files.

Now for some reason the database still sees this file and tries to load it, but can't find it.

I have a lot of 3rd party assets so I am reluctant to reset the database but not sure there is any other way to rid myself of the file.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks.

P.S. I search for and cannot find the file.

I suspect that when you tried to create your character you used "Figure/Prop assets" instead of "Modifier assets" to save it, as a result you created a second version of G8F, you have then used that copy in your scene instead of the original.

It's the only reason I can think of that can explain why your scene is looking for G8F's main asset file in the wrong location.
