I report that I can't report anything because after installing the new update and it failing a couple of times, DS6 has disappeared from the Windows Start menu. It does not appear in DIM, neither as installed nor available to install (I have the filters properly configured), and all the contents of the "DAZStudio6 Public Build" folder disappeared, except for one custom shader. Fortunately, I am still working in DS4, but I wanted to check if Shader Mixer was still having issues.

Did your security software take exception to it? I have had DS updating content read as a ransomware attack, resultin in the deletion of the application.
For those who used mcjChangeOrientation in studio 4.x and have not been able to use it in Studio 6. A working verrion will be posted in the Freebie section soon.
I had the a crash on the latest version of Daz ALPHA.
This crash was bad, no crash report, it gave an error and I needed to force a shut down. Steps on repeating it below.
This seems to happen because of one addon, with a specific morph that I honestly never use at all (see attached image).
This is how I repeated the crash...
- Load Daz (Latest Alpha)
- Load default, Genesis 8 female with nothing else.
- Go to Parameters Tab for the character
- Click Actor
- Click Legs and it crashes with an error (see attachment)
- I have to force a shutdown, so no crash report is generated.
I managed to easily recreate this crash doing the above so I cleared the log file, and then carefully recreated it with a fresh, empty log, and then saved the log before I clicked LEGS which crashes it. I attached the log.txt. (Crash log.zip).
What I did was just change the display resolution while I am using the Alpha so that everything is bigger and then switched it back when I was done. It is a trade off but, since the Alpha doesn't grab ridiculous amounts of Ram, it is worth it.
Bummer. 1st alpha was very stable. Later ones crashed on me regularly so I just installed the "tiny interface" (Mac) update. Chatty is suggesting doing some terminal changes to the application so it starts lores. Anyone tried this out? Can makte the app work with changing system resolution. But that kind of sucks.
I think this might be user error, but I'm unable to highlight the gizmo in order to move props along a specific axis, or move them at all actually. Trying to click on the gizmo to move/rotate will usually just deselect the current object and select whatever is behind it. Clicking and holding on the axis to try to move the object will just deselect the current object or select the object behind the gizmo as if the gizmo isn't there at all.
Testing further, it seems like only IK can be moved with the gizmo in the viewport, I'm unable to move/rotate any props or character that isn't moving it with IK.
I figured it out! It turns out there is a bug where if you have a light in the scene with a 180 degree spread angle, it will prevent you from selecting the gizmo. If you change the spread angle to 179.9, it works again. So weird. Is this the right place to report this or is there an official bug reporting form?

I've just tried it (with a cube), and it appears to work for me with a spotlight
I can't reproduce the problem either. Customer Service will probably ask you to record a video demonstrating the problem, if they can't reproduce it either.
I have opened DS6 (v32308) on my MacMini and moved it from my MAC Studio Monitor to my HP monitor and found that every drop down menu is appearing on the MAC Studio Monitor in that extremely tiny print and almost illegible. Does anyone have a way to get it to appear on the HP monitor where the Studio is opened on? I have tried closing D|S while it is on that monitor and reopening it, but it defaults to the MAC Studio Monitor and I have to move it again to the HP monitor. BTW this has never happened before. The screenshot is off of the MAC Studio Monitor.
Edit to Add: I have tried rebooting my computer with D|S having been on my HP monitor and it still opens on the MAC Studio Monitor. Depending on what I was working on when I shut off my Mac, and what monitor a program was on, it reopens on that monitor. And this is the first time I have seen this behavior with DAZ. Just opened 4.24.0.4 and it opened on the HP monitor without issue.

I basically guess that drop downs are based on the resolution on the monitor where Studio started (showed the splash), and as that is 4K they will be small. Workaround (not tested ), is to put the mouse ptr on the screen you want studio to define by when you start it, i.e. if you start it and then quickly move the mouse pointer to the second screen (HP) , the spash screen will come there and then all scales will be set by that screen.
I will test that as soon as my promo has finished rendering....
Thank you Totte for answering. I tried moving the mouse but it didn't work, but it got me to think about the Display assignment. I changed the Main Display assignment to the HP and after clearing off all my open windows back to the Studio Display, I opened DS6 and it opened on the HP monitor just fine this time. And when I click on a drop-down menu, they appear as they should under their arrow. So that means that this version of DS6 is usable for me and others if they have a monitor with that larger (?) graphics. This is a 1600 x 900 monitor. (I hope I have this correctly written out?)
I just noticed that all the extra metadata that I added to DS 4.24.0.3 and then 0.4 for products which used to show up in DS6, is not appearing now. I ran Update and Merge Windows a second time and have after working on the metadata yesterday in DS4.24 I exported my user data before shutting down. Previous versions of DS 6 did show the extra metadata I use to work in Smart Content when it was on the same computer. Checking other files, I am finding some products I worked on during the past few days do have the metadata, others do not. Very hit and miss. So I am not sure if I got confused with working on two systems at once or what. But I do remember working on these files on both my MacMini and Win 11.
@memcneil70: I was just guessing on that "mouse trick" as I worked when I had two screens in different resolution and tested (ws discovered by accident when I saw studio launch on "the other screen".
Both my screens on this M4 max is 4K, and the 2K is on the M1 Max so it's a bit of cable switching to test things like this, but you did he right thing to change primary display to the HP.
I've just tried it (with a cube), and it appears to work for me with a spotlight
I can't reproduce the problem either. Customer Service will probably ask you to record a video demonstrating the problem, if they can't reproduce it either.
I did include the youtube video I posted in this thread in the bug report as well. That's good to know it's not universal.

Please check that this is true in the current build, 6.25.2025.35308.
Why we need a key, why “Fit Anyway” doesn't work, remains unanswered. In short, without activating the software, soon there will be no functionality left.
Logically, working on software is to improve it, not to make it obsolete.
Is there a way for you to pass a message to developers to move the "Applying mesh smoothing" operation from UI thread to a background thread with lower priority or if it is already on a background thread then to do something pretty please to make UI responsive because while there's continuous smoothing going on the UI is totally unusable. You can't even navigate through it to find and disable smoothing that's how bad it is.
To point out how bad "applying mesh smoother" is -- it takes 4+ seconds for a click on anything to register on a 4.6 GHz Xeon with RTX 5090 no matter the drawing mode.

Some features require activation, others don't. AutoFit is definitely not a core feature, it is a tool for converting from one figure to another, but what requires activation and what doesn't is a matter for the developer; very few non-open source application do not require some kind of account registration for use.

Ahh~~~ righ-click in the container .... I could've tried that !
Thanks !
Does anyone else have the same issue since the new update of personas missing content and textures that is in their respective files?

Is My Library where you install Daz content?
And how are you installing?
If you look in file explorer does the file then exist there? It should according to the file list.

Hi, just why?
That message suggests that the serial number for DS pro has not been entered, so it cannot use some of the features.
Studio 6/2025 needs a serial number to enable the pro features. You'll find it in your Daz account serial numbers.
There wasn't a way to specify it as Daz 2025 but I mentioned 2025 wherever I could and reported it anyway.
I can't reproduce the problem either. Customer Service will probably ask you to record a video demonstrating the problem, if they can't reproduce it either.
Hey guys, I can read. But no one has told me why. The further this version goes, the more it becomes complete nonsense...
I don't mind a pop-up alert, but don't include a “Fit anyway” option if it doesn't fit...
