Can't Load Materials for dForce Space Commander for Genesis 9
As the title says, I can't seem to load the materials for dForce Space Commander for Genesis 9, or most of them anyway.
I get an error every time I try to load the 'neckline' opacity (of course I tried that first ^_^).
But I also can't apply any materials to the epaulettes either.
I can work around the neckline opacity by just going into the textures and applying it, but I'm not sure what the problem is with the Epaulettes.
Can anyone help?

Try to look in the log Help > Troubleshooting > View Log and list the error text.
Well, there was a LOT in that log file, but I copied all the relevant data, I think (still a lot, though).
Loaded the jumpsuit, tried to apply Neckline only material but failed. Tried Neckline and Short Sleeves material, but only sleeves was applied.

I assume it is a hieracical material set, and for that you must have the right parent.
Is the item parented to a G9 character?
I loaded the jumpsuit by itself, haven't tried it attached to G9.
Guess I'll do that after I wake up later (Day Off, and I'm up way too late ^_^)
the other Princess products I have all are hierarchical materials where Genesis 9 needs to be selected which pi$$es me off greatly
not the only PA who does this and I complain endlessly in many threads
makes autofitting to other figures then changing materials impossible or using different combinations on different garments
so
I guess this one is the same
after loading each preset save the separate garment materials separately
because it's obviously too much trouble for many PAs to do this
Yep, that was the problem.
I'm new to G9, every other item I've had with multiple materials you need to select the 'base' item to apply them, first time I have ever seen where you need to select the actual model instead of the clothing first.
There are 2 types of materials, Material and H-Material. The H stands for hieracical, which means it can apply materials to more then one object, i.e. if the outfit has 4 parts, with a H-Material you can apply it to all 4 objects at once. Or if a clothing item has buttons (or something else) parented to it, a H-Material can apply settings to both the clothing item themselves and the buttons.
You can save ordinary maretial settings after having applied a H-Material.
The issue with H-Material is if you don't have the item parented to the intended figure, if you e.g has autofitted it, then you are just lost. There are some work-arounds, but it can be a little annoying to do.
Thank you for this information. I will be watching for this and making sure not to purchase anything with this. I kit bash far too much to want to deal with all of this. I can and do modify stuff all the time but I don't need to add any more time to my workflow and saving out textures, etc. is just not worth the time. And its too expensive not to have an item that is versatile straight out of the box.
Some options if you come in that situation.
Have the original character, and then just parent (don't fit) the clothing item to that while applying the material.
And then the method I often use, browse the texture in the base color, and just select another. For clothing glossiness, bump and normal is often the same between materials.
