I wish you a Christmas that is much more than three-dimensional!!
A few concerns—no, just one—with version 4.24.
When saving a scene in progress, for the “first time,” it was customary during the ‘save’ process to open the “filtered save” window to save by overwriting the existing file, as after a reinstallation or update. But now, it's systematic. Each time you want to save, you have to open the directory where the scene is located and overwrite the existing scene file.
Thank you for your help.
Check that your author name is filled in DS preferences. DS always uses "save as" if it detects that the author of the current scene is different from the current user (to avoid overwriting a scene from a product), and if your author name is empty it always considers it as different.

Have you defined 'author' in preferences?

felis, Leana :
= No, that wasn't the case, but now it's done via the “personalize” window at startup.
You deserve a Christmas in as many dimensions as you wish.
Thank you very much.
