Dear @FeSoul

I love your hair products and I already bought a huge collections of your products but sorry I've have to rant. I noticed that your newer hair products (like https://www.daz3d.com/dforce-strand-based-fe-2-in-1-braided-style-bob-hair-for-genesis-98-and-81, https://www.daz3d.com/dforce-strand-based-fe-half-up-ponytail-hair-for-genesis-9-8-and-81, https://www.daz3d.com/dforce-strand-based-fe-wet-wave-hair-for-genesis-98-and-81 etc) have both G8 and G9 compatilibty. Then there are some that are exclusively only compatible with G9. This constant inconsistency is frustrating! Ideally I would prefer you launch all your hair products with G8 compatiblity because G9 hair never works well with G8 characters despite using all tricks. I already have two products https://www.daz3d.com/dforce-fe-elegant-wave-long-hair-for-genesis-9 and https://www.daz3d.com/fe-soft-wave-long-hair-for-genesis-9. They both are nightware to make work with G8 characters. So, it is my humble request to add "G8 compatibility" to all your older G9 hair releases, PLEASE!!

I second that request... I avoid all G9 hair for this reason.

Basically it's dForce strand based hairs that don't convert well.  FE has actually many G9 only mesh hairs that convert fine using autofit, even the morphs are preserved. The Soft Wave Long Hair you say you can't get to work, works fine for me, so maybe you're doing something wrong.  Here's a render of the Soft Wave Long Hair as well as several other G9 only FE mesh hairs I've tested.

I do agree that it would be nice if all strand based dForce versions from all PAs also had G8 versions, but maybe there are too few G8 users these days to make it economically viable.  Other PAs have also started phasing out G8 compability.

I am a heavy G8 user. Non-dforce hair generally is easy to convert with few exceptions where material presets don't work that well for converted G9 hair. But the converted G9 "dforce hair" is the biggest challenge. I am aware of the tricks but it is not full proof method. Some conversion don't convert scalp materials whereas majority of dforce conversion simply makes the dforce unusable. Having said that all these issues just adds extra headache and interrupts workflow. Would be best if PAs offered both options in the product release.

The appetite for G8 products is still very high which is why now more and more PAs are offering combo G8 and G9 options for new relases again. They tried to phase out G8 products but I guess there aren't lot of buyers for exclusive G9 products (clothes and accesories are exception)

If there was an easy way to make strand based hair for G9 work with G8, with minimal to no manual tweaking, would that interest you? I have an idea for a product and just need to do some testing to verify it works :)

It would interest me, for sure, I'd love something that does this reliably!

I position, scale and parent hair, but if there is a better way I am interested.

If it can make all dforce G9 strand hair work on G8 with little to no work then I am defintely interested. Bonus points if you can make the scalp maps/materials work as well including color presets

@Silas3D I'll add one more request to the wishlist. For some non-dforce hair after G9 to G8 conversion, morphs are rendered unusable. I've no idea why because it works in some and it doesn't work in others even if it's same PA. Would really appreciate if you can address that!

Ok doke, I'm juggling a few projects at the moment but I'll be sure to invest some time into testing and will report back in due course :)
