Ok. I'm getting a month of D+ now. Black outlet appeals to me.

is that like a brown outlet but after eating licorice?

Haha! it's the code for getting 10 outlet items $1.99 ea or $.99 ea with membership

    actual code: BLACK-OUTLET

So frustrating. I'm a Daz newbie so this was to be my first big sale purchase. I spent over an hour planning out my purchase based on the early friday code and the "Shopping"/"Still Shopping" extra 20%s. With about half an hour left in the stated time limit, I went to add the early-friday code to my cart and it wouldn't work. Tried a bunch of things (including unloading and reloading the cart - fortunately I still had all the items in their own tabs in my browser). Then reloaded the sale page and it showed about 15 minutes left, but the new mid-friday wishlist codes were up instead. So clearly someone at Daz messed up the timers. And lost out on selling to me.

I guess I'll go see if the 3rd party sellers have functional sales going on.

Oh, and other lesson for the day which most of you probably figured out already: Fill up my wishlist to be ready for future wishlist sales. (If I decide to try my luck here again.)

Definitely try back again. Shopping at Daz can be incredibly frustrating, but honestly, the overall quality of products is better than the bigger third party sites and nobody can match the sales pricing (when the sales are working, that is).

I always start any sales cart by throwing any old item from all the categories of interest and applying any voucher I'm I planning on using. Takes minutes to see if a sale is working and whether it's worth building a cart. When it's broken, I keep the cart and refresh through the day. Shouldn't have to do it, but it's so stupidly easy to do that I don't understand why Daz can't hire someone to do it for them. Or maybe they do and that person gets paid on problems fixed and is thus incentivised to create them? Only logical explanation I can come up with!

  • BLACK-OUTLET! Was about to dump the cart. I now have what seems like hundredes Of Z poses. Ten more won't hurt.

I could not resist some of those Polish outlet bundles for .99 cents each.

What does the current discount mean by "Starter Bundle?" Is this only the Genesis 8 stuff that have "Starter Bundle" in the name with no Genesis 9 stuff available to use the coupon on?

As far as I know, yes.

Me neither. I'd been eyeing some of them at $3.49, but couldn't imagine what I'd really use them for - but at 33c per item I was straight in!

Honestly, I was frying fatter fish. I already had a lot of the Polish bundles from previous OS forays. I got a comically ridiculous amount of stuff for $20 (including membership). Now I have a $6 coupon to use. surprise

    Thanks Daz!

15.8Gb to download?! I'm gonna need a bigger hard drive soon.

I've tested a random selection of bundles (maybe 30 or so) the only ones I can find that will use the code are included (all of them) using "Starter Bundle" as a search of the store.

Outlet items (arguably) have some better bundles (for 99p each) - use the checkbox.

And there's a few surprising things in the outlet (but it's 53 pages worth of scrolling) - like this: https://www.daz3d.com/easy-liquid-custom-liquid-shader-and-presets-for-iray ($1 off its outlet price with the coupon), some western gear (buildings, guns and horse-things), a decent sci-fi bundle; a couple of car and plane bundles and some weapon bundles too.

~90% of the characters in the outlet are G8/G3

I managed to find 10 things, getting halfway through the 53 pages.

I think it is/was a decent BFriday gimmick

  • TorquinoxTorquinox Posts: 4,239

2 things: $6 for a starter bundle is a pretty good deal but I've got pro bundles for $7 or less - I passed. And for the outlet deal, I got a bunch of the $5 bundles which were already a good-to-great deal for a buck each. I dos get a few $3.49 bundles including Polish  helicopters. Then, the hardest part was picking the 11th item so I could get a token to sweeten my $6 D+ coupon buy.

And for the coupon, I'm getting a couple small bundles and 3 outfits. I'll end up paying a dollar.

This is pretty sweet. I thought I was sitting out. I'm interested to see the next promo.

Well. Slept through the one code that would've been useful to me, and wake for one that looked good until I ran face first into the undisclosed price floor.

Ah well. The sleep was worth it. There's always another sale.

I only saw the BLACK-OUTLET in the last half hour, luckily I made it. This was the first time I experienced the magic of Black Friday.

  • TorquinoxTorquinox Posts: 4,239

The tool bundle is a flat 90% off full price with the code. There is an item I might buy...

I remember buying a lot of those for much more than that! :) Glad you found a bargain!

Welcome to the party! :) I saw someone advise cart-testing a few items to ensure the coupons/offers work as expected before taking time to build out a full cart, which is excellent advice. Here's a trick I use when I have a cart but need to temporarily empty it for some reason:

    • Most browsers support middle-click on links to open them in a new tab. So I open the cart, duplicate the tab a few times so I have backup copies, then clear the cart.
    • Now I have several duplicate tabs that reflect the old cart before it was emptied. If I refresh one of those stale cart tabs for any reason, I'll lose the links, BUT if I'm careful I can middle-click each item and pop open new tabs to rebuild the old cart.
    • For example, in the attached screenshot I have three pinned tabs on the top left which are all stale copies of an old cart to save the links - and my real cart is currently something different.

Don't stress about clocks ticking down or urgent special offers: there's always another sale!

I got excited to see a deal for 90% off some tools I'd been wanting! But, 90% off doesn't mean 90% off, for about 90% of them! (:

I opted for the 90% off 3 with 1 new release option. picked up the SU long coat, the Headshop 2025 bundle, Geoshell Visibility Presets, and the Fit Control for G9 bundle.

Is there a lowest price currently? I used FRIDAY-TOOLS but only got 85% off ($3.99)

  • TimotheusTimotheus Posts: 249

I'm seeing the same thing with that FRIDAY-TOOLS code. Full price is $21.99, so 90% off should be $2.20, but it's showing in the cart as $3.99 (82% off). Don't get me wrong, that's still a good deal, but it's not what it should be.... Right?

Given how frequently Daz neglects to disclose the fine print of their sales, I'm betting they forgot to tell us you can only get 90% off if 90% is $3.99 or more. It's been reported to the other thread.

Mesh Grabber Bundle is 90% off in the selection for the FRIDAY-TOOLS coupon. Whether it will really let you buy, install and use it, i don't know, since I thought Daz had pulled Mesh Grabber from the store after making it a Premier Only Tool.

    And for Macintosh: https://www.daz3d.com/mesh-grabber-bundle-mac

Luck is really what it takes, because everyday there are errors and undisclosed conditions and restrictions in the Daz sales ads. Most errors eventually get fixed before the sale ends, but it is always a frustrating waste of time to try to figure out what is wrong.

The store sells the older version.

I vaguely remember seeing something like this somewhere; it seems like all the current discounts have a minimum price, but I'm not sure how much it is. Anyway, I still managed to get a great deal on a product.

You know the song "30 Ways to Leave Your Lover"?

Daz seems to be working on its sequel: "30 Ways To Close Their Wallets"

Not that I'm shocked overall at the dysfunction today, but you think if there was ONE DAY that folk might want to test before go-live, it'd be this one.

50 ways to leave your lover!

It worked out for me. I'm sorry it was disappointing for you.

  • I was out most of the day but got home in time to buy a few of those Outlet bundles for .99. A few minutes invested, a few bucks spent - I'm calling it a good day at the Daz store for me.

    Thank you for the correction.

Glad it worked out for others it's worked out for. Just feeling salty at the constant, utterly preventable, issues -- stuff that doesn't work, deals that aren't what they claim due to missing fine print or other reasons...

Holiday task load -- and the bombardment of advertisements this time of year -- is quite enough without all this nonsense.

Tried buying "LI Strand-Based Omni Suite" using FRIDAY-TOOLS and came up as $4 instead of $1.70 ... nothing mentioned about any minimum price that I could see.

Yeah, lots of other people with the same issue... it's been reported in the other thread. Nobody has added a floor price notification by this point, so I find it unlikely it'll happen this late in the day. So things are 90% off... except, y'know, when they're not.

Yea, I just tried another item and it gave a better discount but still stopped at $4 ($3.99) so it looks like that's an unlisted minimum. Also, tried a bundle where I had one of the items, so the bundle was discounted... the coupon just gave discount on full bundle price, not price adjusted for already purchased items. This might be standard practice, I don't know, but it doesn't seem like it should be.
