Wanting to rig the lid on a static prop that has rubber feet attached to the lid

I have a prop someone else made, and I want to rig the thing so the parts move. It clearly has the lid as independent geometry, since I can go into Gemoetry Editor, click somewhere on the lid, then invoke Ctrl-* and it then selects the entire lid (and nothing but the lid) without me having to do anything else. On the other hand, there are two little rubber-feet on the bottom of the lid, and those are clearly two seperate pieces of geometry.
I can very easily add a bone to the lid, so it can open and close like... well.. a lid, and I've done it before with another prop like it, but that one didn't have any non-included geometry on the lid I wanted to rig.
My assumption is that it's probably just a matter of clicking a couple of buttons or menus somewhere in Daz Studio in order to integrate those two little feet into the lid before I rig the lid... but I don't know where to look for this. Can anyone recommend a basic, simple tutorial on how to do this?

Off the top of my head, the solution is to add the lid and both the feet to the same Face group with the Geometry Editor, then to set that Face Group as the Selection group for the bone you created to for the lid in the Joint Editor, and then with the Node Weight Map Brush, to use the fill by bone command: the feet should now be moving with the lid.

Edit: if you want to control the position of the two feet, another solution is to create two child bones for the lid bone and to attribut one feet to each bone: child bones will follow their parent bone when it's moved.
If you want to include both main part of Lid and rubber-feet as a Whole Lid, after selecting the main part of Lid as you said, you can just hold Ctrl key, click on one of rubber-feet (stilll with Drag Selection Mode), keep holding Ctrl key, then repetitively hit + (plus) key on NumPad, until all facets of that rubber-foot selected. Do the same on another rubber-foot... if their geometry are not welded...
Re-assign the selection to lid's Surface / Face Group, then tweak rigging as needed ~
