Black Friday Pre Sale

Hello,

The black friday pre sale is amazing and allows all products to get 50% off on my wishlist.

Question is though, should i do that and be happy with the 50% or should i wait for black friday where they might have a better deals?

For a seasoned shopper 50 % off is usually not getting any attention.

In the PA section you can 50 % more off (i.e. 75%) with a code for up to 5.

Adding an "Individual" (releases from today and yesterday) can get PA items at 80% off. And on top of that tokens if you have any.

What black friday might bring - nobody knows....

You think it's amazing now? Wait! So here's some unsolicited advice: 50% here on Daz site is actually a poor discount by itself. You want it to stack with other discounts until you're getting, say 80% off on PA items and at least 93% on DO items - There is some flex with newer content - It's new! Look for bigger discounts on older items.

Next, begin by using the MORE4-YOU coupon to buy yourself a gift card with your budget. You will get a 20% discount on the gift card or multiply your budget by 1.25 and that's the amount to put on your gift card. It'll be discounted to your budget amount in the cart.  Pay for purchases with store credit - That's an extra 20% off right there.

Then, even if it's only for a month, get a membership. Daz+ is a good choice - That gets you the discount on Outlet Store and Quick Grab, a $6 DO coupon and a$6 off $18 Daz+/PA coupon. It also gets you 30% off DO items and may factor into other sales. If you want character bundles etc, and especially if there is an additional enticement to buy it, you can get a Premier membership. To me, it depends what else is going on. And you can upgrade at any time, getting a discount for the unused portion of your D+ membership.

Next, try to do some of your shopping on Monday or Tuesday - You get double tokens. Tokens can be a powerful discount stacker.

Finally, Try not to blow your whole budget on the first day. As I said, if you think it's exciting today, wait 'til we get near Christmas! It's true! That said, keep your eyes peeled for discounts of opportunity. We had one of those recently. It was awesome! Got https://www.daz3d.com/leanne-81-mega-bundle for $5, among other things.

    Hope that helps you!

If you're queasy about spending your whole budget on a gift card, at least get a GC for near-term purchases. I would point out, 20% gift card discount with no buy-in is a pretty good deal. There may be other GC-compatible offers as time goes on - No guarantees if they'll be better or worse, or what buy-ins will be required. Truth is, future offer may well be worse until a good one pops. There was a 25% recently - That was nice!

    Anyway, have fun.

Oh I didn't know it wasn't that great of deal in comparison to other stuff, thank you so much for the suggestion, I'll look into the published artist section to see if they have any deals i would wanna check out.

    @Torquinox

Oh so that's how people do it. That starting make sense because I got one of those plugins daz deals and was wondering how people get them so low. Thank you for the advice I guess I'll wait until christmas and will look into Daz + for some deep discounts.

    Thanks again everyone!!!

The final item: Watch the "always another sale" thread here in the forum. Fellow shoppers can help you find the best deals!

And keep in mind there will be some great deals between now and Christmas. Happy shopping!

Welcome to the forums! You've come to the right place for questions... I've learned so much in my time here! There is an absolute trove of knowledge here and a lot of people willing to share it.

And in the spirit of that:

Check out the thread about getting your wishlist ready for Christmas. This time of year it might be smart to prioritize non-Daz Originals with the thought that you could potentially get the DO free in the advent calendar, presuming the December festivities follow the trend of previous years.

A good guideline when you're starting out is to ask yourself how soon you need an item. I definitely paid more for some stuff in my first few months than I ever would now, but also, if I hadn't, I would have had nothing to play with! If it's not an urgent need, definitely take a bead on whether the folk in the Always Another Sale thread seem excited or bored by the sale, and if they're not excited, it's likely a better deal will come with some patience.

Another thing to watch out for with %-off wishlist deals, is I've noticed that often the prices of everything in my wishlist jump up to a point where they're more expensive with the deal than on many days without. Not a universal thing, but something to keep in mind.

A final note: Daz Deals is a great guideline, but it also keeps store errors listed (one example is the day that a lot of stuff briefly dropped to 60 cents instead of 60% off), and it only counts the store price. There are a lot of sales where a price will drop lower in your cart based on a coupon or some other deal (like adding a new release), and it has no way of logging those.

I'd also suggest that you consider stretching your budget further by looking at free items. There are a lot of free resources available in the freebie forum here (search for Perlk or AllenArt [AKA LaurieA on Renderosity] in particular for jewellery), at Renderosity Most Wanted, at RenderHub, or find it through PoserDazFreebies. There are a lot (utterly vast amount) of very good freebies available, particularly for G8F/M, but there is stuff going back to Victoria 2/3 if that's what you want. Regards, Richard.

Hi @Torquinox, thanks for the info, I didn't realize the 20% discount could also be used for gift cards, after reading your post I bought a small one, for some purchases in the upcoming sales or in OS and QG!:)

Hi @emanuela1, glad to help and I can't take any credit. All the good sale info is here: https://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/743066/there-s-always-another-sale-thread-discussions-only-pt-5#latest

I almost missed the sale (ambivalence, mostly), but last night I tossed something from my wish list in to see and HOLY CROW!  I ended up buying 29 items from my wishlist and paid $1-$2 each for most. I could have picked up about 10 more items at those kind of prices, but I was trying to practice some self-control.  Of note, I did use 8 Tokens on top of all that savings!

Sometimes with DAZ Sales, you just have to put it in your cart in order to see how the price pans out.
