48HFP Animation Project - Premiere Screenings Online

There were about three dozen worldwide teams entered, so you get two groups of about 18 short animations (2 to 4 minute, normally 4 to 7 minutes)  for $4.80 for each group viewing.  This year had a 16 day time limit, vs. the normal two day.  The other contest features were the same, a pair of genres (pick one or both), a character (name & occupation), a prop, and a line of dialogue (has to be verbatim).  We got detective/cop and/or supernatural, Issac or Isla Bennett - a loan shark, a harmonica, and the line "Do I have to draw you a picture?".

I have watched all the 27 entries (apparently some of the 35 or so teams did not complete their videos), and very much enjoyed a number of them.  At screenings like this over the years at the 48 Hour Houston contests (live action plus animations), I give scores of 1-10 to each video, then vote for the top three (you have to vote for three in each of the three or four groups of a dozen or so videos).  I usually have a 9 and maybe a 7 or 8.  I had three 10's in the two groups here (not counting my own entry).  Really some impressive work, which you might expect from a worldwide contest with 16 days to make an animation.
