Can't install Daz Studio 4.9 Beta(Sorted)

I have downloaded the Daz Studio Beta in DIM, but when I tell it to install all I get is "Install failed!"

I would like to try the beta so any help would be welcome.

    Have you checked DIM's log file?

    You can find it when you go to Settings and then click the big View Log button. You have to scroll down to the bottom of the file.

    Is DS 4.8 still running while you try to install?

    Did you install the current version of Studio with DIM?

    What version of Windows and what security/AV software are you running?

    Where are you installing it to?

    No I had to install 4.8 manually because of the same problem. Can't do that with the Beta.

    Windows 7 Pro 64 Bit.

    Microsoft Security Centre.

    C:\Program Files\DAZ 3D\DazStudio 4.9 Beta

    MS Security Center isn't known to be THAT picky...I'd be more likely to say that was what is blocking it if it were something else. 

    Can you try running DIM as an admin and see if it lets the install complete?  (Should be able to do that by right clicking on the DIM icon and selecting Run as Admin or something like that.)

    I wonder if there's any info in the Windows Event Viewer's logs...Start > Control Panel > Applications and Security > Administrative Tools > Event Viewer.

    If something is actively blocking it, then it may show up there.

    There's something odd with your Windows permissions...but it's a Windows thing, not a Daz problem.   And with the way Windows has implemented the permission structure trying to fix it in that user account may make it worse, so as long as run as admin works...(my son had to completely resintall Windows because an update messed up and didn't complete properly and really messed up the permissions...even run as admin didn't work for him, plus it gave him the excuse to migrate to a 4 TB hard drive...).

    i have a questions 1 some of the files i.ve downloaded end up in content or smart libary with a yellow tab an won't load i can't use thrm why what can i do 2 i have watched the videoes on unzipping an installing files but i just can't get the hang of it USE THEM.SOMEBODY HELP E?
