Today is stated to be the last day of the 2025 member sale. Do you think it will be extended?

Comments
I'm guessing no since they're already back to their original pricing.
No one in the forums can answer that question. Daz is the only one who knows if a sale gets extended.
I hope that it will, just for 1 day, so that we can benefit from the better OS/QG pricing ;)
Did they ever re-post that ceramic mouse freebie stacker?
No, maybe they are saving it for Christmas. Or a "spend $500 and get this free" offer, given how popular it was.
There's a new free object, so it has to be extended long enough to give away the free texture add-ons for it.
I'm guessing extended, for the following three reasons:
1. Ceramic critter stacker was titled "Member Festival Ceramic Animal" -- implies it's part of this sale, and we haven't seen its official release yet. (I suppose it /could/ be for next year, but... I seriously doubt they plan that far ahead.)
2. For the other sculpture-type freebies like today's, there's been an add-on texture set to go with it.
3. I think the marketing folk are at least mildly allergic to ending things when they say they're going to.
Based on #1 and #2 I'm thinking it might get extended through the week, then maybe jumping to an early Black Friday thing (because rare is the commercial venture lately that actually starts BF on the day after Thanksgiving anymore).
I will be surprised if there ISN't an extension. These things usually roll over into Monday and beyond. That said, i will also guess that many of the current deals WILL end today, so a lot of the things that are on sale now... like the 2925 doorbusters promo, will be back to regular price.
is this the ceramic animal everyone talking about?
Yeah, it was briefly (accidentally) in the doorbusters, then got removed entirely.
Looking at the freebies I got, did I miss out on extra textures/addons for the ceramic animal and geo sculpture?
The animals were not officially released, so there was certainly no follow up set of materials. Whether there should be I do not know. I thought there had been a couple of things that did not get add-on textures, which may apply to those two and possibly to today's item (or not, as the case may be).
Based on past history, extension seems likely - No guarantees.
Huh. I stand corrected.
They have a plan. We don't understand their plan, but it's their plan. And they follow their plan!
Well. that is open to question.
Looks like it ended with a bang - followed by a whimper.
I can now say its a No. Well, I had 51 of those stacker items. The end.
@daveso Pretty sure 10 of your count came from membership. AFAIK there were 42 items given out, 43 if you got the rodents.
Haha! Which part? The way I see it, too much work goes into their marketing materials and sales pages to think it's all done night before. Somebody must map out what they're doing and maybe have some contingency plans but a lot of what they do isn't rigorously tested until it goes live and we gamely test it, report the broken parts, etc.
And who knows? Maybe the broken parts and weirdness are also part of the plan. Since we're not in the meetings, we can't possibly say one way or another.
And just because it's a plan, doesn't mean it's a /good/ plan...
Like many of you, I ended up with a ton of the stackers. It was nice that there were more than enough to reach the highest tier so you didn't have to worry about missing a day or 2, ya know?
I wasn't planning on buying anything this weekend, but I couldn't resist a good deal on a fresh GC this time of year along with some great deals on recent 2025 releases - a pleasant surprise for sure.
It wasn't a new reease, but Heron by AM is probably my favorite acquisition this sale:

What were some of everybody else's favorite pick-ups?

Watch out for the heron hierarchical poses. They will reset the scale of the character and move it to the world origin. I submitted a help request long ago, but nothig has been done about it.
Thanks for the heads-up @barbult. I just tried and for me 9 of the the 17 included poses seem to exhibit the behavior you described. I typically create a group with the root node of a figure selected anyway to make hiding the figure and all children easy with one click anyway, so I'll just transform the group instead of the root node.
I've always wished there was an option to have hiding the root node of a figure behave this way without the need to create the group. It's handy for human figures with hair, clothes, etc.
Anyway, too many words - not enough pictures! Here's a quick test render of the heron straight out of DS:

The heron must see a fish. He looks quite excited.
@algovincian you can CTRL+LMB click on the root node to hide/show it and all parented items, without putting them into a group. You might take a look at BJ Layers plugin, if you are frequently hiding and showing groups of items that are not necessarily parent/children hierarchies. Neither of those would fix the heron pose issue, though, so your "group" method might still be preferable, if that works. Does putting the heron into a group also prevent the heron hierarchical pose from changing the character scale value?
Yeah I'm aware of ctr-lmb but avoid it because when you unhide using this method, it also sets the visibility on all the individual children. So if some of the children were hidden to begin with (like multiple hairs or sets of clothing on a figure), then when you unhide the root with ctr-lmb, all of the clothing/hair is will be set to visible, if that makes sense.
Thanks for mentioning the layers plugin - I hadn't seen that before and will definitely check it out.
I think it's the eyes that make the heron look excited. Maybe excited . . . or maybe crazy lol. Either way, I love it!
