Problem with Wolfie's Decorous Outfit
I'm having problems with Wolfie's Decorous Outfit https://www.daz3d.com/dforce-decorous-outfit-for-genesis-9-and-8-female . I am using the G8F version and I appear to have bought something that is different between the two generations. The G9 version is highwaisted and no belly shows itself...what I would call decorous. Unfortunately, the G8F version is a belly showoff and a real disappointment, especially as no promos showed this. I don't want to return it, I waited a long time to afford to get it and I've managed a work around by increasing the scale of the lower abdomen of the pants to 175% and increasing it to 210% once simmed but if someone can suggest a better way I'm all ears (well, eyes really). What else I've tried...Zev0's Fit Control (nope), SY's Ultimate Clothes Fixer (nope again), converting the G9 version pants to G8F (waist was a bit higher, but pant legs too long), screaming at the screen (total failure, made the cat freak out). The vest needed adjustments extended to fit over the scaled pants (waist left and right extended to 150%, back lower to 110%). The cardigan fits with no problems over both adjusted pieces and drapes beautifully. I appreciate SO MUCH Wolfie including G8 in their products...I'm just sad this one made my cat freak out.

@Lorraine, I bought the outfit when it came out and never noticed the descrepancy between the image on the promo and in my screen. I loaded G8F and used the 'Outfit' option to load it and yes, it does load with the midriff exposed and no way to raise the waist up or the top down. When I went to move the character, I found that the pants, vest, and cardigan had not parented to G8F and had to do it manually. When I loaded G9 base, adjusted the shape for a feminine figure, and loaded the outfit, it did parent correctly and the waist was up under the vest. The vest 'appears' to be longer, but I am not sure if that is caused by the shorter G9 character? But you are correct, none of the included adjustments will allow you to move the waistline higher.
I am not sure which version is more correct or how it should or if it requires fixing. Porportion wise, I think the one with the midriff showing is more realistic where it lies.
Edit to add: I just closed the eye on the G9 vest and the waist line of the pants is at her ribcage. It is as if she is wearing her mother's clothes.
@memcneil70 thank you for testing that out, it's good to know it's not a glitch in my matrix. And you're right, it does look like G9 is wearing her mum's clothes. The g8F version does have better proportions, I just dislike bare midriffs unless they are on a beach, I'm very old school I know. I fell in love with this product when it first came out and I waited patiently till I could afford to get it...I love the materials too, they're gorgeous. I shall play around and see if I can get the vest a bit longer maybe. Or I could search for another top in my far too extensive collection.
Maybe some of the Sexy Skinz products could help? I buy them for just this purpose.
That's a good idea, I have some of the sets
I bought this outfit very recently.
The fit for G8 and G9 is rather different.
So I made 2 morphs, one for the vest and one for the pants, as the vest alone was not sufficient to cover fully. The morphs is simply that I used the G9 fit as a morph for G8. The morphs are in the zip.
Here with only vest morph.
And here with both (the pants are also longer for G9 than G8).
@felis Oh wow! Thank you so much! I will download them on my computer in the morning
...Zev0's Fit Control for G8 may have also worked. I don't have this particular outfit, so I couldn't test it out, but it has helped with similar styled clothing.
I tried that, sadly did not work.
Success! Downloaded and used @felis morphs and they solved the problem. I did prefer the G8F pant length so I reduced the scale of left and right shin and this is the result. The longer length would be good with heels. Thank you, felis, much appreciated.
Thank you @felis I downloaded it also. I was off-line yesterday afternoon.
