Texture editor

I can't remember anything anymore.  Even where to look to find what I want.

I brought a scene over from DS but one of the transparencies aren't there.  I'm thinking that this is because of the new technology from DS where it might not be using a trans map. I looked at it in DS and couldn't make it bring up surfaces.  A lot of instances being used in the objects I'm working with.  Anyhow, image of roll in DS, image in Bryce and texture editor.

What happens if you click the black/white dot above the middle square? That square appears to have a transparency 'map'. The right square suggests to me that nothing is shown of the material.

Or you should click 'blend transparency' in the dropdown under the 'down' triangle at the middle top of the materials lab.

Thanks Hansmar, I did try blend transparency...I think.  I'll try it again.

I get 'select plug-ins folder' when I click on any of the down arrows.

Oh, sorry.  Ok, will do.  Blushing.

Nope.  I've clicked on everything and tried every node slot and setting.  I have no idea :(

No problem.  I'll render the scene the way that they are.

That did I do?  I can't make this go back to normal.  I was clicking on the image view cube on the lower right side and somehow I held down my mouse and got this.  Help?

Edit:  never mind.  I figured it out.  I just needed to hold down my mouse on the view cube and choose a different view.  I never used that before.  Very cool.
