Not all weight mapping can be removed

I have a belt with a loincloth and I have fitted the clothing to the model. I made it dforce dynamic and added the dforce modifier weight node. I edited the weights so just the loincloth will respond to dforce simulation while the belt is not. This however, creates a new problem which I have not found an answer to. When the loincloth is fitted to the model, it creates weight maps for the item. I use the weight editing tool to clear the weight mapping from the thighs, but I cannot remove the weight mapping from the shins. It appears that it will not let me remove from both, one or the other. I want to do this because the loincloth will be pulled to the shins when the model is posed. This keeps the loincloth from working during simulation.

  • Simulation should override posing, as long as the movemnt isn't too dramatic, but you should be able to push al of the weight onto the root (Hip) bone - however, the total weights on a vertex across all bones must add up to 100%. You could simply remove the bones, with the Joint Editor, if you never want them to have an effect.

Loin cloths usually have their unique designs, but Transfer Utility, as default, transfers that unexpected results as you showed above.

An easiest  alternative without deleting bones is to: just fill 100% weight on Pelvis with the lower cloth facets selected (ss1).. then it'll fix other corresponding bones on which you don't need weight (ss2) ~

Then, save the loin cloth as a projection template. Next time when you make another loin cloth, rig it by using the projection template in Transfer Utility... so that you can avoid unnecessary manipulation on weight AMAP ~~
