Problem with PTF Anime Inspired Makeup
Okay, so I'm always looking for non-LIE makeup (it takes forever and the process is destructive--you can't change your mind later on), so I was excited to see this: PTF Anime Inspired Makeup for Genesis 9 | Daz 3D . I also have had almost always good experiences with PTF products. However, after just getting it, I can't seem to get it to work properly, and the documentation says very little about how to use it.
When I apply the makeup, it drastically changes the skin tone. I've seen this happen with other things in the past where a preset changes some kind of normal in the textures--you end up with this washed out look. I can see that the materials preset is changing a lot of things, but I'm not entirely sure how to fix it. I tried applying the materials while ignoring images instead of replacing them, but that didn't work. The only thing I can think of is to manually go through, figure out everything that's changed, maybe save only those properties and try to reapply them after applying the make up or something. Surely that's not how the product is intended to work. Does anyone who has used this product before have any suggestions?
I would include a picture but the forums always fight me everytime I try to include a picture, and it always takes a long time getting anything to work. Pasting images isn't supported, and uploading a file results in an endless loading message. There's a way around this by going and uploading an image into your gallery and then including a link to it but that's a lot of work for and time for a simple effect that's probably recognizable to anyone who's messed with textures before.
The model skin goes extremely pale over the head with a clear seam before the textures go back to normal outside of the head area. Some kind of image, like a normal map, is being added or removed in the process of applying the preset. It also appears to disable several options (like dual lobe specular).

Comments
I don't have the product.
I assume it is applying to the make-up channel, that is only available in SkinPBR shader. If the character don't use SkinPBR I don't know what the result might be.
If you for your character select the face surface, is it then SkinPBR (most G9 character is).
And if, then after applying the makeup try to scroll down to the makeup channel in surfaces and show a screenshot how that looks together with the character.
I did some testing and you seem to have hit on exaclty the right issue. I was using G9, but all of the G9's I used had non-PBR iray as default. I switched over to PBR, and it worked just fine. Thank you for helping me find the issue!
