Indeed, since the latest Poser I have is Poser 9/Poser Pro 2012--from the YEAR 2012. I've not been able to load this into my machine since I need an external DVD reader. New machines don't even come with those.
I'm wondering if I'm going to have issues with such an old version of the program.
For Canadians, today (September 6th) is the anniversary of the first broadcast of Star Trek (we aired it two days before the U.S. for the first two seasons).
59 years of wonder...what a wild ride!
I have used lots of items made for Poser 8 and newer in Daz Studio without any issues.
The items that cause problems are rigged characters that use their newer weight mapping.
Happy Star Trek Day
The latest version of Poser I have is 11. I do not think I reinstalled it since I reset my computer due to an error starting DS and some random HP error. The HP error was odd since I use it a Lenovo.
Looks like I'm VERY late to this, but it seems a lot of the links go to ShareCG, which unfortunately went belly up a month or so ago :(
I was finally able to get my Poser Pro 2012 installed a couple days ago. While Poser complains the figures are "newer than expected", so far they seem to be loading okay.
With DAZ, it's rather hit and miss. Many load alright, but some don't.
Ironically, I started my 3D life with Poser (Poser 3 just before P4 came out), and had quite a few issues getting used to the DS u/i when it first came out ~ Poser 6 or so. Now, after all these years of using DAZ, I have to get used to making used to the Poser u/i again!
Thanks.
Thought I'd share a little teaser for the reboot of my Star Trek: Aurora fan series. This clip features a new look for the characters. Animated in iClone, but Daz assets all over it! The new story will (and the old episodes did) draw heavily on the Trek assets here in this thread, so thanks to all for making all these great assets available!
Awesome news, looking forward to it!
Cool
Thanks! This is another little clip using assets I found via this thread--so great for Star Trek stories!
In the big list of assets at the beginning of this thread, there are a lot of TOS uniforms for V3 and V4, but are there newer TOS uniforms for later figures like G8, or even G3?
digital toybox has some , male and female for genesis 3 and genesis 8
This artist on DA might have some items you could use

Thanks, Bluto and GRFK! I'll look into these.
I never released a specific corridor set, but all of my interior sets include a section of corridor so that one can render them with the doors open and see the corridor outside.

Renderhub has said they will be taking care of folks who formerly posted freebies on ShareCG - I guess I should start catalgoing my stuff and uploading it there
Thanks, Ptrope! I used your Starfleet Transporter Room way back on my first Aurora episode, which looked great. Makers like you really help the rest of us tell stories. Yeah, looks like half the stuff at the links at the beginning of this thread went to Share CG, so it's taken some detective work to find things. On this thread, you chronicled updating your TOS Bridge set, which looks really nice. Is that available anywhere?
For the corridor I was looking for, I was able to find a suitable model at Excalibur Productions--thanks Bluto!--which is still out there after all these years, with lots of stuff by Madison Bruffy and Mylochka, some of it going back to 2006! I really needed it for a generic test animation render, for now at least, which I'll upload probably later today.
A TOS room-builders pack would be a great asset to have. Thing is, most of the TOS corridors and whatnot were mainly flat planes and some cylindars, so it's not that hard to model them with basic 3D-creation skills. That said, there are a few greeblies here and there, made out of pipe-shapes and such and then simply glued onto the wall, which I'd wager the originals were probably made from plumbing pieces and other random scounged pieces-parts.
Another thing I'd love to see someone do would be a comprehensive build-pack like that, but of Space 1999 wall modules, and for other 60s and 70s sci-fi standing sets, or even for 1950s sci-fi room sets, but that's outside the scope of this Trek thead.
A character animation test for an upcoming episode of my Star Trek fan series Aurora. This was really supposed to be a simple test of some new morphs and clothing for a minor background character you’ll see for about 10 seconds, but it kind of got away from me LOL. I hadn’t intended to use cloth physics (in C4D) but it turned out to be easier than it used to be, tho I went through about 5 different outfits to get here. Anyway, it was a fun exercise, and I learned a lot, including some problems I didn’t know I had to solve. This is using 3DUK's TOS Dress for G8F, Mylochka's Observation Deck, and RawArt's Big Cats: Lion texture.
Super-impressive, as always! Really looking forward to your next adventure!
