Can be done in a modeller, but even there it requires a bit of work.

    Quick demo cheeky

I'm not even sure what you mean be "a modeler". I can deal with the surfaces tab. I've never dealt with external programs.

These are so cute models, that are worth to try, maybe surface separation based on the colors.

Blender, Hexagon, Zbrush and plenty of others.

Have not used the bridge from Daz Studio to Blender, yet.

    https://www.daz3d.com/daz-to-blender-bridge

In Blender should be easy to create a new material zones.

    Then using https://www.daz3d.com/blender-to-daz-studio-plugin

one can bring the edited meshes back to Daz Studio.

I could create dForce hair addons for these if anyone would be interested? That way you'd be able to control the color of the plushies without editing the textures or defining new surfaces.

Whilst I'd love to be in a position to offer it as a freebie product, a guy's gotta pay his bills - I'll post an example later :)

I would love a zebra.  There is a book I would like to make some fan art for and I need a zebra lol.

I think that would be amazing, Silas! I'd love to see what you come up with. heart

This is a very rough proof of concept, eg it's still in SBH mode and density, thickness, length etc needs to be optimised - but hopefully it will give you an idea of what they could look like :)

@Artini - I love what you're doing with them! So creative! Is that a wax shader in the last two, or....?

  • ArtiniArtini Posts: 10,283

    Thank you very much, @SilverGirl

It is actually a snow shader, but looks very nice.

    Been experimenting with different textures

I like the herringbone and the knit best.

Hi everyone, unfortunately it's not going to be possible to define clear surface boundaries from which colors can be set, because the models would need to be retopologized for the edge flow to be optimized.

I could however use an LIE texture based approach to give you a similar amount of control - obviously not as straightforward as just changing a color in the surfaces tab, but would still offer the flexibility of color customisation, similar to how Genesis 9 makeup works.

If you'd still be interested in this, then I can proceed with the new approach :)

Yeah, the geometry is a little messy.

I think LIE would be a fine substitute.

Yep! Still interested here! Thanks so much, Silas! laugh

@Artini Can you tell me which snow shader you used for those Plushies?

Late to the party, but adding that I'd be down for it as well, and looking forward to the new images. :)

Hi everyone, apologies for my lack of updates - I've not been well and also had to prepare a new base texture for the panda to support LIE color masking. Here's the latest version:
