Quick Fantasy Vignette 1-5

I positively love @Dreamlight 's Quick Fantasy Vignette series (Links: 01 02 03 04 05). Are these backdrops based on any assets sold in the store? I'm hoping to do a series of photos with some sets, but find the flat backdrop kind of limiting with angles. Thanks in advance!

    I was not going to join in on this sale, however you have made me think twice.  It seems that everything in the scene is included WITH a curved backdrop.  So, I don't think the angles are limiting!  I am going to have to pick up a couple!

    Yes, everything is included within the vignette set. And they are beautifully done. Glad you picked them up.

    However, it is limiting for what I want to do with my project. I was hoping to do a few wide shots with the Quick Fantasy Vignette 3 set. The mountains and clouds are exactly what I'm looking for. However, the giant planet in the background is noticeable. Its going to make it obvious that it's the same image when I need to make several from various points of view.

    That's why I was wondering if the background image was "pieced together" from other assets in the store. Mountains, VDM clouds, HDMI maps, etc. So taht way I can "duplicate the look" so to speak, if I extend the images.

    From what I can tell, at least some of the background images look like they were AI-generated as they have issues that make me question the images: the bridge arc is crooked in a way that wouldn't happen in either real life or modelling, light on the mountain doesn't seem to be matching, coming from both sides, especially on the right (it's not the other mountain casting shadow as there's light o the ground between them).

    Obviously, I don't know. But they feel very AI, and the PA has other products that have more visible artifacts (like this one or this one) that are often seen in AI images. But I don't know their process. Perhaps someone will match the assets to Daz (or other) sets or products.

    I took advantage of the sale but didn't buy any of the vignettes. Based on the product image I see that the enclosing curved geometry is used for atmospherics. The backdrop is largely flat, limiting as the OP pointed out. 

     

    Write Idea,

    Depending on your needs, an idea is to model the landscape background yourself. Here's a recent discussion about terrain modeling and rendering software (i.e. basic Terragen is free). A few people pointed out that EON Softwares VUE and Plantfactory are now free from Bentley. I haven't used them, but it appears you can export models to OBJ and import those into Daz. Alternately, there's Flowscape, which I used a few years back and isn't too expensive. Blender has a bunch of addons too.

    and can mix the two 

    One mentioned previously in this topic: I have used VUE (free) which takes a little learning but does (eventually) give brilliant results
