Transfer Data from G9 to New Figure Mesh
Hey there! I created a body shape in Daz Studio with a G9 figure. I then exported an OBJ into Blender, and created a whole new head on the character. The body is point-for-point exact. Is there a way to transfer all data from the G9 character to my imported mesh so that I can pose it? I've searched YouTube, the web, and everywhere I can think of with no success. I tried using the Transfer Utility, but it transfers all data, but the new mesh is just connected to the original, like clothing. It ends up "kind of" working, but if I remove the original G9 figure, all the JCMs go away. I'm really just trying to create a new character with a different head.
Any suggestions? Thanks!

Why not make the new head a GeoGraft, that hides the original head mesh?
Yes, making a geo-graft of faceless head or a pure faceless geo-graft will be much much easier, like : https://www.daz3d.com/fpe-faceless-for-genesis-9

If your remade OBJ is welded, and you DO want to make a standalone faceless G9 figure, when rigging with Transfer Utility, you need to uncheck Fit to Source Figure and Parent to Source Figure. Then rebuild the base joint corrective system by using Transfer Utility > Morph Targets, i.e. transfer all corrective relevant modifiers from G9 to the rigged target, as well as set up all the ERC links related to Correctives. That'll be a very very tedious work...
Cool. I'll look into the GeoGraft for sure. Would this be able to be transferred to Blender or Unreal Engine?
Yes, better with Diffeomorphic Daz Importer to Blender (https://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/689606/diffeomorphic-add-ons-version-4-5-0-released#latest) or Daz to Unreal bridge (https://github.com/David-Vodhanel/DazToUnreal)
Are there specific settings to get the transfer utility to work? All youtube tutorials for geografting just show them using the default settings, but when I do that, the new head doesn't move with the G9 character. It moves on it's own as if it's been rigged, but won't follow the g9 figure. Thoughts?
Default settings in Transfer Utility will do. You should set G9's resolution level to Base before exporting head geometry as well as rigging the new head with Transfer Utility. Then the new head will be seamlessly conformed to G9 figure after rigging is done.
Then set up Auto-Hide for the geo-graft.
