Figure arm and leg bends - Are these getting worse?
in The Commons
I seem to be doing a lot of bone shifting, post figure posing, these days...
Has something changed in the figure arms, hip and leg bending areas?
Has the rigging for characters been...."improved"....?

Which figure? In Genesis 9 make sure the Corrective Bend Shapes (CBS) haven't been turned off. In any figure, make sure there isn't a bad joint centre adjustment (kicking in when it isn't needed, missing or not kicking in when it is).
What is a "joint center adjustment"?
The US spelling of joint centre adjustment?
Oh, you mean what is the referant - moving the joint centres (origin) so that they line up with a shape, through Adjust Rigging to Shape or the like, and then (the bit that may be awry) linking that change to the controller for the shape that they are being adjusted to match.
The second explanation is more to the point of my question, yes. Now I understand. Thanks, Richard.
I did hesitate over posting the first bit. Glad the second bit did explain my neo(ish)logism.
Just make sure You don't go over the edge with that humour. People might get scared when they suddenly encounter a funny cat.
It's a genesis 8 figure. I'm noticing lots of issue with poses. hip creases in strang ways. I don't remeber hading to do this much fixing before...
I was thinking it could be related to the figure being morphed, and usually I would think to ajust the rigging to shape, but still ahve to move things like the leg bones, so the knee bends don't look rubbery.

Check your active hidden morphs; it's definitely not unknown for a character to go out without their JCMs being correctly linked to their morph, causing them to activate on all characters.
If so, uninstall them (or manually fix it, if you know how), then put in a customer support ticket to get it fixed.
(I tend to put in a few reports a year, even once or twice for core characters, but the way I work and the stuff I do makes it more normal that I'll spot these than many people).
As others said, you probably installed a faulty character that has hidden morphs engaging when they shouldnt. Since it's the most likely issue, you need to rule that out by showing hidden properties in Parameters tab and then putting your figure into a pose that gives you the issue. Then you need to scroll through the Current Active in the Parameters to find the culprit morph in the list.
Once found, you can uninstall the character it belongs to.
I felt so...the crooks of the elbows and knees, worse of some characters.
I did buy some morph sets recommended by Lee Moon as the renders he posts don't have the problem as much I had been having it.
