has-mat containment suit
Hi, I am Sfariah D. I love Star Trek. Just finished watching Strange New Worlds Episode 2 from season 3. Trelane was great. I think his dad has a trickster like voice. Or at least that is how it seems to me. I think the dad's voice actor took a role of a trickster in a certain tv show.
I'm introducing myself to the Star Trek Builders unite group. I will come around later for request maybe?
i am making the request that anyone with a freebie on the mega list post them at vanishing point 3d . he has a list of free items with a star trek section
Is it possible to make a Vulcan preteen without using editorial something only. I don't want to get into trouble if I enter the render of the Vulcan preteen in a contest with prizes. I think that might be considered commercial not editorial usage.
This looks great--nice job! What clothing models did you use for that, and is that texture for the dress available anywhere? I looked for it in the models & textures list at the start of this thread, but it seems like the link is broken.
His Trek items aren't there any more. Look here for info https://www.deviantart.com/3duk/gallery/92909984/tos
Thanks, Robert & Gogger! This is very helpful!
another failed attempt at posting pictures.
anyhow, what I was TRYING to post can be found here in my gallery. I give up trying to do this garbage!!
Ryuu@AMcCF: It would be an interesting idea, the only issue is it suffers the same problem as the having the Bridge there: exposed on the top of the ship.
True, but still better to lose a VIP than the ship's command center. Besides, even in the case of a battle going on, the VIP would be at some sort of General Quarters location rather than in bed sleeping.

Very nice as usual

First render of my new bridge!
Looks great! The rest of the sets for the U.S.S. Mariner also look fantastic, and they're all in my cart for my next use of a "big" ship (I'm currently using smaller bridges for smaller ships).
Has anyone else purchased this item? I'm curious as to what your experience was like.

David
not yet but looks like a cool alien.
It is. Only issue I have is that the rigging doesn't seem to work well in DAZ. When I loaded it, the tentacles basically exploded. I know it says it's for Poser, but most Poser items don't have an issue working in DAZ. The tentacles load in as already posed. Body parts are moved dramatically from their original position. I'll have to post a picture later of what I mean.
Older poser characters work, but I believe that changed a few versions ago and newer Poser characters don't work directly, sadly. I'd love to use some of Dodger's latest characters, but can't. I remember someone mentioning some hoops they were able to jump through to get newer rigging to work in DAZ Studio, but I can't find it at the moment.
I grabbed the Futuristic Crew Bunks and Futuristic Bar and Lounge here but I haven't seen the Bridge pop up yet. Do you know if it's coming soon, or should I pick it up elsewhere?
It's up on Rendo
Thanks, but I'm hoping to buy it from the DAZ store. I'm a huge fan of DIM. My best case scenario would be that it was held back from being released along with the bar and bunks packages because it might be part of another Filatoon release like the TOS/Willow 9 package a little while back, ideally with a male character this time and Lower Decks-styled uniforms. Pie-in-the-sky most likely, but a cadet can dream...
Bridge will be comming to Daz store soon!
Fantastic, credit card standing by!
I see what you mean. I don't have Poser installed yet on the new machine I got, so I can't see if there are any issues with that, but this is totally incompatible with DAZ. Also, the lack of a zero pose and no evident ERCs for the tentacles are not a good sign, either. Vanishing Point usually puts out products much better than this. This is rather disappointing.
With all due respect, the product is clearly marked as being made for Poser. A few versions back, Poser changed its rigging system and made it incompatible with DAZ Studio. Vanishing Point makes items that when marked as being for DAZ Studio work well in DAZ Studio. Older Poser items without the newer rigging work just fine in DAZ Studio (textures may need updating depending on your need, but they still work). Saying that VP put out a bad product when you're using the wrong software strikes me as a little unfair,
It would be like me complaining that software or a plug-in clearly marked as "Windows only" doesn't work on my Mac. It's sad for me, sure, but it's not a slight on the developer.
True. But maybe the product description could've said something about what version of Poser it is suitable for. If they've changed the rigging, it's possible it might not work well in earlier versions of Poser too.
That's true too, but if I remember correctly (I stopped upgrading Poser at version 6) they changed the rigging and weight-mapping in versions 8 and 9, which would have been early and late 2011 repectively. I don't know how well a new figure will work in a version of Poser that's 15 years old, but it's possible these figures might not.
If you check the VP website, it says that Dodger's cool aliens (and they *are* cool) require Poser 8 or better. Maybe they *partially* work in earlier version, but I don't know how well.
At the very least, though, I would agree that DAZ should at least list the miminum of Poser 8 in the product description, since it's known and available on the VP website.
