Witch CPU to go faster with very big scene ?

I Have a PC only for DAZ3D

with

- AMD Ryzen ThreadRipper 3970X - 32Core/64Thread - 3.7 à 4.5GHz

- 256 gigas RAM

- Nvidia Card 3090

= SSD 8T very fast

For rendering it’s ok, very fast

BUT before rendering, to manipulate very big scene or UltraScenary USC scene

It’s very very slow !

What can I do to go much faster ?

Change the processor ?

Witch processor ?

Thank for your answer

Do you have UltraScenery or UltraScenery2? UltraScenery2 is a plugin and has many optimizations that make it faster to work with than the original UltraScenery. That wouldn't help with other scenes, though.

My question is not only for UltraScenery2 but for all very big scene with many carracters

  • Daz Studio is not heavily multi-threaded in many areas relating to posing and shaping as those do not lend themselves to such approaches. As a result the spped of individual cores matters more than the number of cores.

Yes, i know that, only 1 CPU is used to display et manipulate a scene

it's better for that only 1 very fast CPU and not 64 low CPU

But witch is the faster CPU to put in the PC ?

  • Is Nvidia still required? My laptop died, and the ones on sale all have AMD graphics cards.

Yes, it's still required for iray rendering, if you want gpu acceleration.
