I have some great health news about my diabetes

My doctor recently told me I don't need to take insulin for my type 2 Diabetes any more. My A1C level was 5.5. He said that is fantastic.
I am lazy. I never planned out a diet. I don't exercise much because of my arthritis and shyness.
However, I cut out almost all of my "sweet snacks!" I allow myself some Lay's plain potatoe chips, but need to limit the input there.
I'm still taking Ozempic. It helps with the Diabetes. Also Ozempic slows down my metabolism, causing me to feel full most of the time.
I don't eat much. I lost 13 pounds since March.

This is the best thing I've heard all day.
Thanks, NylonGirl!
Thats really good Ron. Keep it up. My last A1C was7.2, so I have a way to go.
That's Great News. Any time you can win against this monster is a Victory.
That is truly wonderful! Nevertheless I hope you stay careful.
..yes indeed, very wonderful news.
Ron, congratulations! That's a real accomplishment.
Great news!
That is great news. Having seen the efforts a coleague has put in to do the same, it's a huge achievement.
Regards,
Richard
I am so happy and proud of you Ron. Congratulations.

Thanks, everyone for your support and insights.
It may shock you, but I am incredibly lazy. I didn't extend any effort in this matter.
I just decided to stop buying all those great, sugary delights!
I eat lunch with my friends in the building. We have a well-balanced meal. I have my breakfast and supper at home. Again, I am lazy. I have easy to prepare microwave meals. I'm still fine-tuning things. I used to eat Simply Granola cereal. I had to admit that contains plenty of sugar. Now I'm trying Grape Nuts. There is no sugar in their ingredients list.
Yes, I'm lazy. I am also overwhelmed most of the time. I'll take my victories where I get them!
Cogratulations. Keep doing what works.
Congrats Ron that is fanstatic news. Please keep doing what your doing to improve your nutrition.
I know it is not fun, but try to add stretching to your daily routine ( https://arthritis.ca/living-well/2020/top-10-arthritis-exercises ). No matter how inflexible you are you can do it at home, in private, and I promise it will make all the difference with time.
I have known people in a terrible fitness state who only started stretching when they were over 80 and they saw HUGE improvement in their health/fitness, but it did taKe weeks to notice the real difference since they were very senior and unfit. Perseverance is key and don't push it, it will come with time. If you can't do it everyday then pick 3 days during the week.
Again congrats. Thank you for sharing, you never know who you might have just inspired.

Keep up the positive attidude! It looks better on you!
Congratulations, that's a great result! Even if you say you're “lazy”, it wasn't just the medication that led to this, but also your own discipline.
Thanks, again, for your support. I'd be extremely happy if my experience inspired someone to go for better health.
Well done Ron, I'm happy with your good results even if you downplay your efforts I admire them.
Thank you hjake for the useful links.
Good to hear Ron, but be very careful with ozempic, lots of horrible side effects with it (blindness) and multiple lawsuits against them
Thanks again, everyone for your support.
I'm doing fine with Ozempic. I lost 13 pounds, mainly because I always feel full.
I do get some low glucose alerts from time to time. I just have a glucose tablet or two, depending on how quickly the glucose level rises.
Congatulations, this is indeed great news. Keep up the good work.
Congrats! I hope you keep having good success managing it.
