Did I start the washing machine? I do know I haven`t finished unloading the dishwasher. Maybe I can check on the washer while going to finish unloading the dishwasher. I also need to reload the dishwasher with dirty dishes.
Edit I hear the washing machine so I know I started it.
When I lived in Washington DC I would often return to this area (western NY State) several times a year to visit my parents. Interstate I-79 from Pittsburgh to Erie, Pennsylvania (115 miles) seemed to always be in repair for long stretches of the route. Miles and miles of busy but slow 45 MPH, two lane traffic stuck behind a smoky semi-truck (18-wheeler) So long in fact, that through the sparsely populated route with few exits into the forest, the State in cooperation with local churches would set up coffee concessions at the otherwise un-commercialized empty rest stops. When going north from Pittsburgh, the last real civilized area was Mars (yes, Mars)
a few miles north of Pittsburgh (at the junction between I-79 and I-76), and you didn't see civilization again until you got to Meadville, 65 miles farther north on I-79.
I would often get bored with the monotany of the Interstate driving and jog east a bit and catch US Route 62 diagonally toward home, northeast through the Allegheny National Forest and the scattered tiny towns therein. A lot more scenic, and sometimes faster. Except when it rained hard and the mountains would spit major waterfalls onto the mountain road you were desperately trying to cling to.
When not raining it was great fun on motorcycle!
Somewhere along that route there is a quaint, picturesque, tiny town down in a deep bowl shaped valley that you can look down upon and wonder what it was like during the winter down there.
This morning I scrambled some eggs. Right after I put them in the bowl, I saw my taxi in my driveway. I put them in a covered bowl and got ready to go to church.
Your pet rock ran away?
I think I will not buy my pet rock but keep an eye out on the ground for a good rock that is big enough for those funny eyes. Wonder if I have to buy more eyes. Maybe when I do my next dollar tree run. Most likely after I find a job and the first or second paycheck.
It was blind. Probably just got lost, or was snatched by a wild garden rock, had a litter of pebbles and was too embarassed to come home.
Should'a read the care manual.
Little Dude would highly endorse this method. He has a favorite rock that he found in the yard: grey, and oval, and the size of his hand. It was clearly a stray, and now it has come in to live with us and become domesticated. He carries it around, and his elder sibling and I have named it Rocko, in honor of Abby Cadabby's pet rock by the same name. (He has yet to call it anything, but he's not big on names.) It doesn't have eyes, but it doesn't need them to be loved.
Non-complaint: Porch light problem fixed.
Should'a read the instructions earlier.
Non-complaint: Porch security camera problem fixed.
Complaint: The app to configure it is obtuse, finicky and unintuitive.
Non-complaint: Neighbor guy came by and installed my new shower head.
Also made arrangements to have him replace my kitchen faucet, and get the pipe drainage problems cleared for all drains.
Did I start the dishwasher?
...there's a dedicated thread as well as a long running theme regarding traffic cones on the Portland Reddit. Yeah, this town is weird.
Noncomplaint: Little Dude held it together like a champ while the visiting nurse was here for the annual assessment to get him re-approved for his community support grant
complaint: ...but it took so much out of him that he spent the next four hours in near-constant meltdown mode before sniffling himself to sleep on my lap. Poor little guy. We had such a nice start to the day, too -- he'd even said "good morning" to his sibling when he saw them first thing. He's never said good morning to anyone before. Here's hoping he'll sleep it off and wake feeling better.
It sounds like a downpour outside. I can see that my eves are overflowing. As long as the ceiling isn't leaking especially on my bed!
...be glad you don't live in Milwaukee. This past weekend they had serious flash flooding when a line of strong thunderstorms dumped about a foot of rain on the city, The State Fair grounds were totally flooded causing cancellation of the fair from Saturday afternoon through Sunday. The two major rivers that run through city looked like class 2 rapids and overflowed their banks in several areas The tribal casino on the Menomonee river had its first floor flooded. Many cellars in homes were flooded some up to the first floor while streets became rivers.in some cases nearly submerging cars, and intersections as well as parking lots turned into small lakes.
Meanwhile here in Portland the heat is on, it was 99°F on Sunday and 99°F today (official reading at the airport where there's only aeroplanes and warehouses) but a number of neighbourhoods (including mine) topped 100° (in my part of town it was 102°) Tomorrow's forecast calls for more heat, 98°F finally cooling down into the low 80s mid week and 70s after that
Still on the mid 80s at 22:40 local time.

Non complaint:
00:20, finally dropped below 80°F outside, maybe I can get some sleep now..
For some reason NC likes state fairs in October not August. I forgot why?
Weather sucks less?
MN State Fair is late Aug/early Sept. Not my jam, but I suppose they're trying to get it in before school starts back up again, especially for the 4H kids.
Non-complaint: I KNEW there was a reason my mother taught me to drink my coffee black.
A Massive New Study Says This Is What Happens to People Who Drink Black Coffee Every Day Although my mother drank at least 4 or 5 cups of black coffee every day and she died at 64.
(Of course the continual stream of cigarettes in her mouth didn't help.)
Complaint: I got lost and ended up complaining in the For Us Easily Amused thread. I hope somebody there was amused.
Complaint: Was hot again today(Monday). Will be tomorrow too (high 80s).
Non-complaint: Rain & slightly cooler on Wednesday(low 80s). But mid-70s on Thursday. Yay! Good day for a laundry mini-adventure. A BurgerKing breakfast, laundry, & groceries. Trying to find a way to get to a roadside vegetable/fruit stand. It's sweetcorn season again. Mmmm..., early sweetcorn on the cob, just hours from the field.
Complaint: Today seems to be Tuesday not Monday.
Complaint: 28C today (82F). It's definitely not cricket to subject a nation so unused to sun & high temperatures like this.
Non-Complaint: I had a phone call with my brother in Madrid last night. At just about 10 PM, the temperature had fallen to 36C (97F). However, as he's a lizard, he was liking it.
Regards,
Richard
I think maybe it rolled away. Perhaps it gathered no moss.
Pick one:
1) Prove it.
2) Time is relative.
3) In your opinion.
4) Poetic license.
5) Delayed re-post.
6) It was hacked.
Complaint: Just got a letter from Citi bank letting me know that my Sears (MasterCard) credit card is changing their credit rules and the interest percentage is going up to 33%.
However, they have made a generous offer that I can get zero interest for the next 3 days.
Do you think they know that I haven't used my Sears card for years? Trying to get me hooked, they are.
Won't work, I say.
However, they did offer a way to reject their offer and they would immediately cancel my account.
Considering it, I am.
I was watching the movie the Bad Guys as I'm going on a hot date Thursday to see the sequel. My hot date already saw it, but I haven't.
The picture added to this post is of the Walmart plus ad I paused at the first ad break.
On other stuff, for some reason, I was thinking of horses. I went to DIM which wasn't doing anything. I decided to download and install all the horse stuff not installed yet,
Do you know why I was thinking of horses all of a sudden?
I was easily amused by the post.
I just realized something. If I get a good job, I can use some of that money to pay for my tv and internet and also my phone. That way I don't need to wait until the first each month to pay with health insurance bill pay. Also I won't have that typo error I did this month for my mobile phone. If it does happen, I can fix it with next paycheck!
Just got an application for a mall's food court housekeeping. Hopefully if that works out, they won't mind me not cleaning the restrooms.
We so need more emojis!
If the restrooms are part of the food court then almost certainly they will expect you to clean them.
Okay understood.
I ordered some chickfila and took it home. Right as I was about to eat it, I noticed it was cold. Instead of using the microwave, I put it in the oven with extra cheese on the sandwich and some cheese on the fries. It should be warm soon, which means I need to check it asap.
Thursday again.
Such a nice dog nose, but I don't like a dog nose on my ear. Spent some time the other day with a dog.
Noncomplaint: The weather is lovely right now... low 70's, overcast, and blustery.
complaint: ...but the air quality is not lovely, and so we are still stuck inside. And the trail along that busy stretch of road now has an ETA, but it's about a week into September. It was supposed to be done by now. But I guess if the AQI is awful, it doesn't matter because we can't use it anyway.
Non-complaint: Laundry done. Breakfast at BurgerKing. $10 drugstore coupon redemed before it expired. Necessary groceries obtained. Made it home OK. Mischeif managed.
Complaint: From the bus I could see that the roofing on this house is FAR from done. At least 1/2 still to go. My half.
I recently saw an in game ad that made no sense. Apparently some guy and his wife wanted to get some food on a layover I guess. They asked for the cheapest food an Asian restaurant in the airport costed. They were told that a rice special was the cheapest at $36. The guy said it is too expensive. I haven't flown in about a decade, but I still think $36 for any food is expensive even at an airport. And that did not include alcoholic beverages.
I think the ad was for some money making game, which more than likely is not a money making game. It makes money only for the developers.
Personally, I rather spend $36 on a Stonemason product than on an over priced lunch.
edit I asked copilot ai to suggest a meal at a steakhouse that costs just under $36.
Lookinf over the meal, I think it is too much food for me. My doctor wants me to lose pounds and that meal won't help.
