Please excuse the formatting of previous post. On phone I was unable to get paragraphs to work..
I should have mentioned in previous post that that is something I had tried early on a few days ago and had tried a few times after the repeated install/uninstall of TL.
Thanks for the response.
Yeah, it made it really hard to read it.
The Reset Content Directories scours through every directory in your Content directories to look for .tlOff files and renames them back to .dsf. As long as you haven't changed the content directories locations, it should find everything. Even so, if you have reinstalled some stuff and it goes into different directories for some reason (say you originally installed with DIM and then installed with Daz Connect), you could have duplicate morphs scattered around, which may cause problems.
At this point should I uninstall daz and all G8 content and then attempt to reiunstall all of it? I have five years worh of scene files, content installs, content uninstalls, upgrades, and more since the last time I uninstalled and reinstalled daz. With scenes files exception I am sure there are a good deal of leftover files with improper uninstall when installing through Daz itself and the DIM. I have not used Daz Central for installs/uninstalls.
I digress... should I uninstall Daz and All g8 content and then reinstall?
No. I wouldn't do that. After running Reset Content Directories, you might try selectively reinstalling stuff that is giving you problems. Since you use DIM, you could try reinstalling G8F, the G8 Starter Essentials, and see how it is. Then any other products you are having problems with
I've tried TL for Gen8 female a few times and I'm still not sure what I'm doing wrong here.
I ran TL for one of my Gen8 Females, a new character. I decided to run TL so that all those unuased Expression morphs, body morphs etc... are not loading as I don't use them.
Then once i am happy i do a subset of that Gen8 so I can use her later in any scene.
Now i thought TL would only apply for that specific Gen8 when loading her subset but it appears any Gen8 Female whatever morph i deselected for "hid" for my newly created Gen8 Female is now affecting all my previously created scenes with Gen8 Females. I am honestly not sure I guess on how to use TL properly. I just bought TL Boost Utility in the hopes this will make using TL easier.
I have watched Riversoft Art's video but i'll be honest I think i'm missing the complete gist of using TL. Any other help I can go look up maybe?
ps. I really need TL to work to be honest as loading scenes / models etc.. takes 5min and longer and to save them even longer than 5min. Even saving a completely new empty scene takes long.
You are correct. You are using the Turbo Loader Manager (TLM) to turn off ALL unchecked morphs for ALL G8Fs that you use (so you will turn off 1000s of morphs). None of them will be available for any G8F. Since you bought TL Boost Utility (TLBU), the next step is easy. If you want to load a scene or a G8F, use TL Open File or TL Merge File to make TLBU scan the scene file or character duf file for the morphs used, enable those morphs and then load the scene/character. At that point, those morphs are permanently back on and will be available for any G8F until you disable them again using the TLM.
Note that if you want to dial spin with morphs in a new scene, you will use TLM to turn on all the morphs you would like to have available BEFORE you load a vanilla G8F into the new scene.
Thank you for answering, appreciated. I will do as you instruct and thank you for this product. I can see it's value, just got to understand how to use it properly.
You're welcome!
Hi,
There's something I'm clearly not understanding about Turbo Loader. Here's what I've done:
1. I loaded just one of my favourite G8.1 females into a new, empty scene.
2. I ran the "Turbo Loader Scene Configuration" script, and scanned the scene. It gave me a small list of just the properties/morphs used by my G8.1 female. I saved this list as a configuration called 'subset.txt'.
3. Then I ran the "Turbo Loader G8 Manager for G8 Female" script. It displayed every property/morph that was currently available. I un-checked all of them.
4. I loaded 'subset.txt' as a configuration but nothing happened. What I was expecting was for the properties/morphs in 'subset.txt' to be checked on.
What am I doing wrong?
Turbo Loader Scene Configuration saves a configuration containing all the non-zero morphs and properties in the current scene. Use this configuration to quickly enable all the morphs before loading the scene again using the Turbo Loader Configurations script. After you have saved that configuration, you can save the scene, and then use the Turbo Loader Configurations script BEFORE loading the scene again to ensure that the morphs needed for the scene are turned on.
At this point, you then click "Execute" to disable all morphs for G8F and the dialog disappears.
BEFORE loading that scene you saved earlier, Start the Turbo Loader Configurations script, select the subset.txt, and click the Load Configuration. Now you can safely load the scene without getting any missing products errors.
I recently came back to Daz after a hiatus of nearly a year. I used TurboLoader extensively before my hiatus to disable about 98% of my morphs so that my Genesis 8 models would load super fast, using the Booster Utilities to load on demand when needed. When I returned and attempted to load an old scene that includes morphs I do not normally have turned on, using "Turbo Loader Open File" is not doing anything. When I checked my Turbo Loader Manager for Genesis 8 Male, I saw only 159 morphs. That's a fraction of what I own, but generally the ones I kept enabled all the time. The morphs I kept off were no longer on my list. I attempted to Scan for Morphs but it only brought back the same 159. It did not appear to be picking up the ones that were turned off.
Is there any way to have TurboLoader Manager scan the directories for even files that were set to off so I can get my complete morph list back? I'm hoping that will allow my load on demand utility to work again.
You can use the "Reset Content Directories..." button on the Options tab of the TLM to reset ALL your morphs back to on. Then you could scan again.
I have a question that may be a bit strange, but has a reason. I know when Turbo Loader start the first time, or there is some kind of problem, one has to create the list of morphs by activating all of them and doing the "scan for morphs".
I did that OK. For various reasons, I am using two versions of Daz installed in parallel, in different directories and that launch with different process names.
I noticed the second Daz behaves like if there was no list of morphs, my guess is because it does not see the morphs list.
Where does turbloader save it ? That can be useful information also to backup the overall DAZ configuration.
The list is saved in the registry as a combination of the DS version and the path to the script, e.g., Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\DAZ\Studio4\C:\Documents\DAZ 3D\Studio\My Library\Scripts\Turbo Loader\Turbo Loader Manager for G3 Male.dse
Thanks. Unfortunately Windows 11 decided to do an update before I saw your reply, so I could not save the infrormation and now that I had to refresh the computer and reinstall all the applications, I have to recreate all the lists :-(.
BTW, while doing that, I notice something I had already seen in the past, if I try to filter the list (so I create more rapidly a configuration with only the stuff I want), the list is filtered OK, but then the "check all" button does nothing, even if I do a ctrl+a to highlight all of the ones visible in the list, and I have to select one by one, is it normal ?
Having lots of morphs (the reason I got the Turbo Loader suit, not just the G8 version), having to go click one by one, even on a filtered list, becomes a long, tedious and error-prone affair.
Incidentally, I know this thread is about tthe G8 version, but if you still own the software and when Daz 2025 comes out you make a compatible version, that would not be bad ;-), a good reaon for not having any intention of passing to 2025 (or at the very least, planning to keep version 4 around for a long time) is the quantity of useful plugins and tools that will stop working.
Perhaps it crashed? I just tested this again and it works on my system. Next time it happens, please check the Daz Log and post here.
I am working on it. DS2025 really breaks so much stuff. I have been wasting a month trying to get Look at Me working. Once I get that, I will work on others (in between releasing new stuff)
Hi there, I had a question and need some help. I've recently started using Turbo Loader and love it, and tried to get a friend to use it as well. But we've run into an issue; the scene configuration scanning is not finding all of her morphs in scene. It finds them in the manager correctly, but about half her morph products are not found when she goes to scan the scene it only finds half the morphs of her products. As an example, it won't find SY 200's morphs she uses on her characters. Yet for me, Turbo Loader finds them instantly. What could be causing that? Turbo Loader Manager finds them, but scanning the scene does not.
Thanks for any help!
