This is the AI Studio forum, and AI Studio has been discontinued https://www.daz3d.com/blog/ai-studio-important-update
If you mean Daz Studio, the 3D posing and remdering application, then please edit the first post and move the thread to Daz Studio Discussion - in which case the issue is most likely in your layout, which won't be touched by reinstalling.
OK, do you have an application icon for Daz Studio in the Daz 3D folder of your applications list?
why is it listed in the Daz 3d community?
Because it still has discussion and images that people might not wish to see removed, at least for a while.
But it's literally called Daz Studio discussion! I've spent a lot of money building my studio up and now it's impossible to access…let alone get answers and/or support!
This is Daz Studio Discussion https://www.daz3d.com/forums/categories/daz-studio-discussion , yes, but the thread was originally posted to Daz AI Studio Discussion https://www.daz3d.com/forums/categories/daz-ai-studio
Oh ok. But now that I'm in Daz Studio Discussion can you please address my problem?
Or at least give me a suggestion as to who might give me a solution
I don't think you answered Richard's question 5 or 6 posts ago abut whether you have an application icon? Maybe he can help if he knows the answer to that.
What's an application icon and where would I find it?
In the Start/Windows icon menu under daz 3D for Windows.
What's an application icon and where would I find it?
My computer doesn't have "start/windows icon menus under Windows." But I tell you this. If you look up [email protected] the powers that be will see that I have spent hundreds if not thousands on this site. If they want me to spend more they will take my problem seriously and help me one on
Are you using Windows? If so click the Windows logo button (what used to be called the Start menu button) at, by default, bottom left and look through the list of applications for a Daz 3D folder, then look in that for an icon for the Daz Studio application.
this is what I have....
Actually I meant the Windows logo button - the four squares to the elft of the row across the middle of the task bar - but what you show works just as well. OK, so it looks as if you are running the version of Windows that blocks application not installed through the AppStore (though if that is so I am not sure how DIM works). This may help https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/answers/questions/4166626/install-third-party-apps?forum=windows-all&referrer=answers
Hmm. I'm not a tech guy...geuss they no longer want my money!
Switching out of WindowsS mode, or enablng third-party (non-appstore) applications is not just a Daz issue, it will be needed by many things.
As I said: I'm not a tech guy. Have no idea how to proceed.
I've spent a thousand dollars on this sight . Suddenly it goes down and I can't get anyone to contact me personally! Very disappointing!
Have you tried following this https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/switching-out-of-s-mode-in-windows-4f56d9be-99ec-6983-119f-031bfb28a307 - it is meant to help non-technical users.
You seem to be under several misconceptions.
The forums are primarily handled by studio users, and none of us are employed by daz3d.
If you want direct technical support, you'll need to follow this link( https://bugs.daz3d.com/hc/en-us/requests/new) to submit a support ticket.
The predominance of the money you spend on daz3d.com, goes to third party content creators, and is irrelevant to the level of support you may receive from either the forum folk, or from the support desk.
There are those of us who have probably spent multiple times what you have, and receive no better or no worse support.
Thus far, you haven't presented us with anything to assit in the trobuleshooting process, beyond, "studio doesn't work".
The screen cap you posted shows that Windows defender crashed, and that you're at least able to get to the log-in screen from studio.
To try to assit in this issue i'm going to ask a few questions.
1. Which version of studio are you clicking on , 4.22 or 4.24 and which version does the startup screen show?
2. What happens if you press "Connect" in the welcome popup?
Do you get an error message, or does it simply close?
2. What happens if you check "Work offline" and click the OK button?
Do yout get an error message, or does it simply close?
Once we have answers to these questions, we might be able to help better.
I've tried several times to contact the powers that be. I get nothing back. It's true all ive given you is "the studio doesn't work" because that's all I know...All I need to know as a paying customer.
If you're submitting support tickets with the same vague problem, you're not going to get a response.
They, and we, need more information to try and assist you.
Let's start with this question.
What happens when you click on the desktop icon?
Answer that and i, or others, will try to help get you straightened out.
Keep complaining, and this thread will probably just get deleted.
The advertizment picture comes up and drops off. the icon in the bottom of the screen shows a + and an - and a square shape. ( a plus and a minus and a square)
The SPlash screen, teling you that Daz Studio is startng and giving a series of status messages at the bottom?
Whiich icon is this?
As I said before, I'm not a tech guy, I'm just a paying customer. I have no idea what icon it was. That's why I need professional help from the site where I invested a thousand dollars. If I'm getting on people's nerves just know this whole thing is pissing me off big time.
We don't have any idea what icon it is either, or what you mean by icon, at least not without more information or an image.
this one.
and this is the three things it displays when I click on it.
