Iray Converter Bundle
in The Commons
I just bought the Genesis and Generation 4 Bundle because I thought that was all I needed. But the only download I have got is one file that only contains materials for the Genitals, not for anything else.
Is this an add-on for something else or have I not got all the files I should have in my product library?

Did you look under scripts?

Additional Details
Using the Conversion Script on the Michael 4 Genitalia:
Due to the way Iray handles rendering it is suggested to select the “Hip” bone of the M4 Gens and set the zTranslation to 0.10 this should alleviate any artifacts caused by the Gens mesh sitting on the Base figure mesh.
There are two extra options on the script for the M4Gens:
Preserve current “Diffuse Color” or “Base Color” of Pubic Hair surface for when the original texture uses a transparency and diffuse color instead of trans and texture map.
Force Invis surface to be set at 0 Opacity is for assistance with residual artifacts after moving the “Hip” bone as suggested above.
General Product Notes
This product incorporates modified source code from Scripting > Samples:
Materials > Deep Copy
The additional Genitalia scripts provided in this bundle incorporate modified source code from:
Scripting > Samples > Materials > Deep Copy
provided by Rob (rbtwhiz).
The Genitalia Scripts require that the figure and the Genitalia are not parented to anything, and that the main figure's skin shader is Iray uber (which will be the case if you applied the skin scripts of the product).
I'd like to thank Rob (rbtwhiz), Richard Haseltine, and Draagonstorm for the support they provided to me when I was learning to script. Without their precious help, I would have probably given up, and this product would not exist.
I'm looking in the zip file and the only directories I've got are I've got are:
People/Generation 4/Materials/V3Digitimes Iray Converter For Generation 4/06 Bonus Genitalia/
People/Genesis/Materials/Iray Converter For Genesis/09 Bonus Genitalia/
Runtime/Support/
These directories have files in them, the subdirectories under them have no files. There is nothing being put in the Scripts directory.
This was posted by V3Digitimes over in the product thread:
Thanks for the information, AGnawKneeMoose. :-)
Well yes I'm sorry you should have everything in the product library and the DIM soon, I contacted Daz so that they will fix it.
Hello I saw that with Daz and the "distribution" issue is being solved by Daz right now :
- people who buy the bundle since now will now automatically see all the 3 products in the content library.
- people who have bought the bundle this morning, well before now : someone is presently adding manually the files to all the product libraries. But everybody will have all the products.
Congrats on a neat product V3Digitimes. Sorry it got messed up at the getgo for you. Good to know they're fixing it.
Got mine now. Time to find out how to use it
Lol! Happy to know it is solved. Well to use it, select your figure and use one of the main applier of the main folder.
Well this is the first time such things happen for one release for me. I must recognise this is a huge stress. Thank you for your comment Novica. I hope you'll like playing with this product. If what you have in Iray preview mode is what you expected, then render xD. If you want to adjust something in the skin, browse folder by folder in the folder order, and try one of the options proposed for base color, increase or decrease gloss, sss.. All files named 'step by step' can be applied several times, they are reading the current values on the figure, and increase or decrease them... So you can click them several times, each time it will change your settings..
A quick question: does this work for Genesis 2 as well? Or should we expect another product sometimes in the future?
It does not work on Genesis 2. More precisely, the script works with some lists of surface names on a figure and applies various settings to the surface names. Since the surface names of Genesis do not match the ones of Genesis 2, the scripts will do nothing.
Well to be totally honnest, the first main applier of Genesis converts the skin of Genesis 2 to Iray uber with most of the parameters I use for Genesis, maybe all. I think it is something due to Daz because it should not be like this otherwise. But all the other optimisation scripts have no effects.
Well if you have the Genesis version, you can apply the main applier 1 (MAG) on Genesis 2. I cannot warranty anything as a result that because it also depends on a background process dependent from Daz Studio, not from me. But my test on Genesis 2 renders pretty fine.
Great news! Thanks!
You're welcome. Take care because when you apply Iray converter for Genesis (the first converter is better) on Genesis 2, the normal maps are lost. You may have to add them manually if you want to render with normal maps!
Great product! And your welcome.. Always willing to help when needed :)
Thanks! And that's so nice from you!!! I have the impression will never thank you enough, you, Rob, and Richard. Honestly, I think it is important that people now that I was not able to script a single line about one year ago, and that thanks to your support when I was lost in the code, or stopped by a command I did not know (or used it the wrong way), I always found one of you to give me the help or the advice I required to go further in my scripts. As I mentioned it the ReadMe, without the 3 of you, I might have stopped scripting (for a while or forever), and this product would probably never have been created.
