With the release of Tree of Life II close by, here´s a couple more previews. :)
Night & Dawn Addon:
This is a really lovely place; I wish I was there...! I especially like that it seems to have more room for figures or props than the first ‘Tree of Life’. I own it and like it a lot.
I'm interested in how the terrain is built on which the tree stands. Is it very flat, or is there some kind of ‘substructure’? Does it have drains (or waterfalls), like ‘Tree of Life I’?
@caravelle
Thanks, I love that you spotted it has more room for figures than the first one! :)
That´s one area I hoped to improve with this set. Or rather change, it´s a bit of a give and take. The "tree on a rock" thing is less pronounced this time in favour of having more space and options.
As for the structure, here´s the overview/clay render >
It also has small waterfalls leading into the scene this time. ;)
I just loaded both packages up on my computer and was blown away. I love this set so much. Thank you for your work.
Thanks Mary, glad you like it! :)

Just thought I´d post the two tips I have for working with the set ...
3Delight: The godrays in the addon (dawn) are hidden by default, because they render very slow. If you want them, just find them in the tree group and turn them on for final renders.
Iray: To get the Iray preview more reactive you can hide the vegetation group while working on a scene.
we had two willows like that in our yard. They can get really huge. A very "dirty" tree to take care of though...tons of leaves and branches falling, plus trimming. Without question very beautiful though. This is a great looking one .
Great, thank you! It flew into my cart yesterday...! :-) Wonderful model.
Haha, thanks for the real-life insight. ;) I can imagine, there is so much "clutter" on them.
All I know is that they are tough to model by hand (I currently don´t own a tool that would have been up for the task).
@caravelle Thanks for the purchase, glad you like it!
Hi guys!
Next set coming pretty soon, ExoPlanet IX :)
It has four variations of HDRIs/Skyspheres, the rock formation at the center can be hidden to get a "clean" desert dunes look.
The sand surface has a couple of footprint trail morphs.
I hope you´ll like it!
Looking good :)
This seems to be very good; the rock and the background are looking convincingly 'extraterrestrial'!
Thanks guys, glad you like it :)
Already released today
I recently seen that movie. I've seen a lot of movies, but none ever made me nervous for one and a half hour. Once I got the tower I'll probably be tilting out of my chair when setting up scenes.
Welp. The thing about Vertigo Tower is that you cannot render at the base. I'd be in the market for a matching ground set to do base render. I tried Dry Mud Desert Iray for testing and that ... is in the right direction but the texture doesn't really match of course.
Hi pixelquack!
Ye sorry, Vertigo Tower is designed for those high up renders at the platforms.
But I modeled it down to the ground in case someone wants to do a scene like the one you are aiming for.
Imo the best soulution would be a proper ground surface with a suitable texture.
Or a HDRI that is designed for ground level renders.
My own ones are usually higher up, but I tried it with "Road to Nowhere".
Here´s a very quick render of that.
It´s not a perfect fit either though, since the Road to Nowhere HDRI has the road space empty. But imo it works fine from some angles.
Well, more or less any hdri won't do me any good for a story series with different angles, and then both at the bottom *and* up high, where I'd have to invisible the ground struture for downfacing shots so the ground sculpt doesn't stand out against the hdri. A proper ground structure would have to match the looks of the VT hdri ground. Which I guess can be modelled with the hdri converted to a flat texture, but that's beyond my skills. Nudge Nudge. (*rustling dollars noise*.) Terrain add-on? :)
Easy Environments: Road to Nowhere
What a beautiful stretch of road! This thing goes on and on - perfect for the long, fast run I've just animated. Wonderful setup!!!
I really enjoy how you include both HDR domes for Iray as well as a mesh sky sphere. Very handy having both options!
Love the addon HDRI pack too!!!
Thanks FM!!!
Easy Environments: ExoPlanet VIII
Yikes! This is INCREDIBLE to work with!!! So Cool!
Thanks Dartanbeck, glad you enjoy the environments!
I love your Exoplanet VIII Render.
Really cool to see this set again after a while, with fresh eyes.
