We Now Have "Already Owned" Tags
in The Commons
I just noticed this - bundle pages with my owned item thumbnails tagged "Already Owned"! I checked a couple of G9 add-ons plus a Pro bundle where I own just a few pieces.
That is so cool, Daz. Thanks!

That is a cool feature!
And even better we get a discount for the owned items in a bundle. I just got over $11,000 in bundle for free because I owned all the items in the bundles.
Which means they were not free. DAZ is just acknowledging the fact that over time, you purchased every item in the bundle(s). Which is a good thing. The thing about those old buy the bundles for the cost of unowned items was, when I "Bought" the "free" bundles the newly "purchased bundle for $0.00 overwrote the original invoice dates and numbers. So I don't buy the "free" bundles anymore because it clutters up my product library, messes with my spreadsheets, and appears in DIM as a new download. Too much work for too little gained.
I keep a spreadsheet of all of my purchased items, which mainly includes some brief notes on the product and any comments I had on testing it. Having a whole slew of "new" items will require not bothering to add those items to the spreadsheet again.
Conversely, it would be nice to not see all of these bundles that I own all of the stuff in, as well as buy a few bundles that I have most of the stuff for.
I don't use DIM.
Decisions ...
Didn't they just grey out the product before? It worked for me. Especially with all the bundle rebuilds, I keep thinking I missed a bundle, only to find I own everything there and in its companion bundle too. (I wish they had left them alone.)
Oh great, time to clear some of the character bundles I already own from my whishlist (I used the "wishlist comments" from daz Deals to tag them)
Just a warning: The discount doesn't appear in the mini-cart, only in full cart
The greyed out thumbnail and "you own them all" message were from Daz Deals add-on, not from the store.
That is indeed coll.
One more feature requested, here:
If you click on it, it should send you to the files in your Product Library.
Clicking on Purchased on a product page should open the corresponding page in your Product correspondant.
No, clicking on the 'Purchased' button adds the item to your cart. However, clicking on the downlad icon just to the left of the 'Purchased' button does lead to the corresponding page in your product library.
The download icon is from Daz Deals add-on too (and pretty useful)
It does open the product library and doesn't add the product on my cart on my iPad.
Following up to note my test of this so far. Initially I picked up one of these completed bundles, a small bundle that had three products which I bought separately, only to find that they were missing a necessary core item (the Safe House bundle). I was able to get the Safe House bundle for free, since I own all three items under it. On my Product Library, it only shows the items once. That's good news if you're concerned about duplicates, bad news if you use it to keep track of when you originally bought the items since they now only show on the new order.
As noted, I don't use DIM. I had no issue installing the missing "Safe House" core item I needed, and the existing items were clearly already installed.
Encouraged, I then "purchased" the (large number omitted) G9 bundles I had bought before the recent bundle change that causes them to show up as unpurchased when shopping. I only picked up bundles that I owned all items for, then bought them (for $0) to finish the purchase. Thus I don't have to take any action on the (many!) Product Library pages that now show above the last actual thing I bought. No need to install or update my files on the stuff that's already installed and notated. Later on, in stage 2 of this project when I buy bundles that I mostly own, I will need to be mindful of this and figure out the best ways - for me - of managing those tasks.
I was able to blast through doing what I did today once I observed that on adding a bundle that I already entirely own, it will pop the warning that I own items in the bundle, and then it will show in the initial cart at the % off as if you were buying the whole bundle. If it shows a percent other than that, it means that there's at least one item in there that you don't own. You'll see the correct 100% off once you look at the real cart.
Note that not all bundles where you appear to own all components will be free, because you might actually NOT own all components.
An example of this would be the Snow Queen 9 HD Add-On Bundle, which contains a few components which were delisted from selling as seperates.
(Emphasis by me). True, the Product Library pages cannot show more than one Order per product, so re-purchasing will only show the last one. If you do, in fact, keep track of your orders, you will find that the original order is still available to view. If you do not, you can still browse your order history. That might be a daunting task if you have hundreds, or *ahem* thousands, of orders to look through, but if you have an idea of the date, you should be able to find it. Eventually. If you really need to.
One other way is to keep all your "Thank You for Your Purchase" emails and then serach them for the specific product.
Do we have any clear info/data on how "Already owned" stuff actually affects the price? I doubt that if I owned 1 out of 10 things in a bundle that I just get a flat 10% reduction in the total price.
Is the amount of reduction proportional to the cost of the items owned (compared to the total cost of everything in the bundle)?
And if back in the day I purchased the "Already owned" thing in the bundle at an 80% discount (or got it for free), but someone else bought it full price, would I get the same amount of reduction as them or would it change depending on how much was originally spent?
I would guess it would be tied to current pricing, as that would be the easiest to code.
It's not based on the price we paid: I got Wolfgang 8.1 from the Outlet Store and just owning it is removing around $20 from Wolfgang 8.1 High Seas Bundle (Wolfgang being the only item I own in this bundle).
These tags and the discounts are a fantastic idea. They save me time that I used to lose rummaging through my product library, and of course money. But in the end, it shouldn't be a loss for Daz either, because it makes it easier to pick up a bundle that you wouldn't have picked up before... ;-)
Not to mention, it de-clutters the product lists for customers, making it easier for them to spot the things they are interested in. ^_^
I'm seeing something weird with the Mika 8 Pro bundle
When I go to the product page it says one of the items isn't "Already Owned"
https://www.daz3d.com/mika-8-pro-bundle
this is showing as not owned, but it also says I have to pay for it to get it.
https://www.daz3d.com/feifae-fairykini-for-genesis-8-female-s
Thats all the weird things I've found so far. Haven't had time to go through my complete catalog.
I bought the pro bundle on 2018-05-10 so maybe it was added later on or something?
So it's been about 7 years ago.
Apparently there is now no way to repurchase things bought before. Not sure why I tried repurchasing Mika 8 pro bundle, but I was unable to do it.
Mika 8 Pro bundle initially included Fantastical Sprite Wings, but that product has been removed from the store at some point and replaced by the FeiFae Fairykini in the bundle. You probably purchased the original version of the bundle, like I did, so you don't have FeiFae Fairykini.
I do have those wings so I understand whats going on now thank you :)
I didn't know they had been removed from the store, I'm so far behind who is and isn't at the stopre anymore
I really like that new tag and I'm also able to "purchase" bundles for free when I've somehow managed to buy all the component products in the bundle. Super cool.
I love it but I wish there was an easy way to find all the bundles I have everything.
It's not ideal, but the way I did it was using the side filter in the store to select "Daz Originals" as "artist" and then sorted them by the highest price, and open each that I thought I might have bought some items from. Most of high priced DO are bundles, so I didn't have to go through a lot of non-bundle products.
It didn't help with the non-DO bundles, but I cleared a lot of their bundles this way.
@paulawp,
Does the Safe House (https://www.daz3d.com/the-safe-house) have a back wall? All of the promo pictures seem to have been taken looking from the back towards the front and one promo picture shows the room without a back wall. It could be that the back wall was hidden, but if not, not having a back wall limits the camera angles one can use. Thanks.
