Finally found time to try out some of the stuff I bought in the ongoing sale, and I really need to shout 'thank you' for the great G2M-garments these guys have created recently!

IH Kang and Aave Nainen should be mentioned too of course, thank you for the wonderful contemporary, every-day clothing you've made for G2M.

Cheers!

Erik

    Nice image Erik!

I don't use GM2 much, but do have lots of Genesis male outfits from IH Kang, so agree with you and hope to see more from this vendor. I bought a few things also i need to install and check out.

Here is a crimescene image i am working also and the FBI agent has all IH Kang clothing on.

Looks like the looters beat him to the store, the shelves are bare, LOL.

The SWAT figures are from Battlefield Hardline, posed in carrara since it imports FBX nicely and then imported into DS

  • LOL! It's just a test, found that shop on 3D WareHouse (SketchUp) and didn't want to render it completely empty : )

By 'Battlefield Hardline' you mean they were taken from a game?

That's too bad, that fabric simply looks fantastic, and the gear bits too!

Yep, taken from the game, For game mesh, it's fairly good quality at 36K polys, probably why the game ran so bad on my rig, LOL. I tried rigging just the outfit in DS, but there was to much mesh distortion, so stuck with the FBX version which won't import correctly into DS, but imports perfectly in carrara, go figure.

Shop looks pretty good for a warehouse model, haven't had much success with those in the past myself, too many mesh issues . What's the shop file name, would be interested in checking it out.

    Iray or Octane?

It's 'Gas station with a shop' by Alexander L., the .skp is quite big at 22 MB.

    https://3dwarehouse.sketchup.com/model.html?id=ub62b2714-a274-426f-b0f5-87032bab7a38

By the way, the ambulance and stretcher in the first image are from 3D WareHouse too.

There's a lot of fine stuff to be found there, but it ALWAYS involves tinkering to get them right.

    Often worth it though!

Octane for DAZ Studio (2k Spp, not quite enough to get rid of all the noise).

    Sometimes a mishap isn't such a bad thing : )

SketchUp crashed while converting/exporting this wonderful Boeing Stearman model by PM3D from 3D WareHouse, but I think the result was more interesting than what I originally intended.

I wanted this scene to try out Yura's Air Defender suit for G2M and Aave Nainen's Blue Collar Basics Coveralls (I'll replace it later).

The hangar actually is Stonemason's Warehouse stripped empty.

The Boeing (19 MB) can be found here:

This is Yura's Air Defender for G2M rendered in Octane for DAZ Studio, really good stuff!

I can see a lot of uses for this set, but first I'll have to sort out a few minor glitches in my render settings.

When I bought Oskarsson's Apocalyptica clothing set during the sale I overlooked the fact that it was for G3F, not for G2F.

To my surprise it looks like much of it can be used anyway on Victoria 6, only the gloves and boots won't fit 'as is'.

I know there is a conversion tool by valzheimer, but at $20 it is far too expensive for just a few pieces of clothing.

Since I have no intention whatsoever to start using G3, I sincerely hope PA's will offer their new creations for G2 as well as for G3!

Please, please, pretty please? (or Vicky 6 will whack you)

I dunno Erik, my GF3 says bring it on V6, LOL

I wouldn't get your hopes up on dual figure support, but you can use all your genesis and V4 clothing on GF3 without the tool, just autofit to genesis 2 and then save it as a figure/Prop asset and it will then autofit to GF3.

I love GF3, and will love her even more once GenX is updated for use with her.

  • I can easily see what advantages G3 can bring for game developers and obviously (for different reasons) for DAZ itself, but I don't see anything except unnecessary additional cost for myself.

So thanks, I'll skip this one I think.

Creating conforming clothes' support for both shouldn't be a big deal for the PA, and I'd pay for the privilege in stead of not buying the product at all.

    Win win, I'd say.

    Cheers!

I'll see your Vicki 6, and raise you Alexis, Rumiko, Joy and Mitsuki, all made from G3F, wearing various ensembles, most of which are made by Oskaarson (Alexis decided she didn't want to cooperate, and decided to wear Stonemason instead, but since I got that on the sale it should still count).

Sorry about the lack of background, but NWX Section 18 is being stubborn and RAM-hoggy.

As always, wonderful clothing by IH Kang: Doctor's Coat and Suit for G2M.

In this testrender I replaced the shirt with a polo, also by Kang, for a more casual look.

Even with rather extreme poses the conforming drape looks great, with additional 'Movement' sliders for adjustments if needed.

Let's hope this maker will continue creating clothing for G2M and G2F!

    Cheers!

Another great 'real world' jacket: M65 by Linday!

Sadly only for G3M out of the box, but even so working quite nicely with G2M and G2F.

I tried it on Gianni 6 using Valzheimer's G3M for G2M clone, but also on Victoria 6.

Lots of (open/closed) poses and adjustments, wonderful!

Thanks Linday! (but please, please consider making your clothes also for Genesis 2)

Just one remark: not all available textures are selectable from the Content Library tab; not all required .duf's are included in the .zip file I downloaded.

    Cheers!

Victoria 6 (G2F) with Oskarsson's Apocalyptica for G3F and Linday's M65 Jacket for G3M, rendered in Octane Render for DAZ Studio.

    Greetings,

Speaking of 'where you got that from', where are the hoodie and jeans from here?  Wait, just answered my own question...that's Urban Survivors, which I have but haven't really used yet...

I always found Oskarsson's stuff to be a little TOO precisely 'rumpled'.  Just something doesn't feel...organic about it.  Luthbel, though, is the Stonemason of clothing...at least when Streetwear isn't making clothes. ;)

IH Kang makes the best mens' shoes, hands down. Luthbel does some great stuff...but Kang takes the award.  The trainers and deck shoes he did with the Casual Outfits... so spot on.

  • Luthbel makes beautifully crafted garments, in my eyes the best looking of all, but unfortunately they often have very limited options for adjustments.

Coats and jackets are either open or closed, a hood can only be up, sleeves cannot be shortened, the effect of wind or movement cannot be simulated, things like that.

For me these options are what makes clothes by other makers like Kang even more enjoyable to use.

Linday's M65 Jacket, again on Victoria 6 (G2F), rendered in Octane Render for DAZ Studio.

Being made for G3M it takes a LOT of tinkering to make it properly fit Vicky, but it is a very nice jacket.

    Cheers!

    Here's Olympia 6 wearing Linday's M65 (for G3M) Jacket.

This time I first used the Genesis 3 Cross-Figure Resource Kit to fit the jacket to G3F, and then Valzheimer's G3F for G2F clone so Olympia 6 could put it on.

There are some (weight map and/or rigging) issues in the collar and the left-hand lower edge of the jacket.

Also the ends of the sleeves need extra adjustments to align them properly, but overall I think the result looks great!

The shirt, pants, and boots are Slide3D"s Vault Rustler for G2F by the way, the hair is Goldtassel's Drifter Hair for G2M.

Rendered in Octane Render for DAZ Studio, as always.

    Cheers!

Same scene, same stuff, different angle.

I did downscale the trousers quite a bit for this one, they were far too bulky in the previous render. Adding mesh smoothing made them fit again, but a lot tighter than they were.

Also the settings for displacement (for Octane Render) were reduced a bit, from 2 cm (-1 cm offset) to 1.5 cm (-0.75 cm offset), which also helped.

    Cheers!
