CADD like routines

I would like to see some CADD like routines, like drawing lines or measruing things point to point using the cursor.

A Window area function using the mouse point to point, basically using the mouse to draw a box in the view to enlarge. A zoom in/out using a point click by mouse.

A select object(s) function using mouse to draw a box around objects in the view.

These would greatly enhance the productivity process in my opinion. I was a CADD user for 40 years and these tools were essential to the workflow.

I have to agree. However, I will confess that my rudimentary scripting skill is not up to it and I don't think someone without a CAD background will feel the same way strongly enough to provoke them into actually coding it. It was the lack of a CAD-like linear or circular array the provoked me into coding them, but an apparently simple measure is not as simple as I'd have hoped. Regards, Richard.
