M3D Helen G9 Duplicate Formulas - What To Do?

tsroemitsroemi Posts: 3,461

I've never had this error before, but yesterday when loading up https://www.daz3d.com/m3d-helen-hd-for-genesis-9, DAZ gave me the dreaded Duplicate warning. Has this been reported for this figure before? And what is the procedure, should I uninstall her? Does one file a ticket about it?
Thanks!

Edit: I can't really seem to find the warning in the log, instead I got this:

2025-06-14 23:06:12.220 [WARNING] :: \src\sdksource\fileinput\dzassetdaz.cpp(645): Formula target property not found:
    File: /data/Daz 3D/Genesis 9/Genesis 9 Tear/Morphs/FaberInc/Cairo/FICairo_head_cbs_Tear.dsf
    URI: Genesis9:/data/Daz%203D/Genesis%209/Base/Morphs/FaberInc/Cairo/FICairo_head_bs_head.dsf#FICairo_head_bs_head?value

I don't even own Cairo, and like I said, I was loading up Helen anyway. What's going on with this, any ideas? Thanks again!

Duplicate Formula warnings usually mean that two morphs with the same name link to head/body morphs with the same name or joint centres, so you get two different instructions to - for example - make Helen a controller for FHMHelen  and PBM Helen. That is usually two products using the same name, because the names are too generic or because the creator copied code for a previous character and didn't update the names. The log file should tell you, try searching for duplicate.

The other does look like a missing/mis-named file. I thjought there had been some dicsussion of this, it may be worth checking to see if there is an update you missed.

Thanks Richard! I did search for duplicate in the log, but nothing came up, which was really weird I thought. I'll check for updates on Helen for sure!

It seems that this was actually caused by the updated 'The Age for Genesis 9' product. There was another duplicates warning with another figure, and I glimpsed something about 'The Age elder shape' flashing by. Uninstalled it, and the warning is now gone.

I had a Duplicate Error warning also the other day on another character, CJ Eska I think. I also own and have it The Age for Genesis 9 installed. I am going to uninstall it now. I am glad I read this thread, appreciate the heads-up.

The Age has just been updated, and according to support, the Duplicate Formulas error has been fixed. (There's nothing on the readme as yet, so I had to file a ticket to get an explanation.)

Is the update dated 13 June? If so it doesn't correct the problem.

@vwrangler, thanks for the heads up, I haven't seen any new update when I downloaded stuff yesterday. The last one I downloaded was actually the one causing the duplicate issue, I think that's the one memcneil70 also means.
