I REALLY HATE HOW FASTGRAB IS MANAGED!!!

i am, as the title in capitals shows, furious.
last evening, MEZ, i saw in fastgrab an item i've been wanting for months or probably a year, but couldn't really afford. i had checked fastgrab a last time in the early afternoon before going to town, there was nothing yet - or rather the same items that had been there for days since before the weekend. i was then busy, and coming home i checked again, and therenit was! so i put it immediately in my cart, radiant of happiness.
BUT YOU SEE, I USE A DEBIT CARD. IT'S NEVER LOADED UNLESS I NEED SOMETHING. AND TO LOAD IT I NEED AN OPEN SHOP, WHICH DOESN'T HAPPEN OVER NIGHT. AND SEEING IT AFTER 4-5 PM ON A DAY I HAVE A SHIFT MEANS I HAVE NO POSSIBILITY TO GET TO A SHOP SINCE MY SHIFT ENDS AT 11PM.
this morning i checked my cart at 8.30 am before going to town to load my card, the item was back to normal price. which means that it's gone for me. it was in fastgrab for less than a day. as i still had the possibility to load my card it wasn't there yet, and as i had the possibility again, maybe 16hrs later, it was already gone. you could say 12-16hrs is enough to react, BUT NOT WHEN IT'S OVER NIGHT!!!
btw other items that were also simultaneously in fast grab, and in which i am absolutely not interested, are still there.
so there are so many days when i check fast grab over and over again, and it stays the annoying boring same for days in a row, be it weekend or not, and when for once i get the occasion of using a bargain, it gets deleted in less than 24hrs. maybe even 12. and i can't react because i live in the wrong time zone.
I AM SO VERY VERY P*SSED OFF.
guess what, since i can't buy lee6 i won't buy any of its addons either, right. thanks for nothing. and don't come with marketing excuses, i am not interested. i feel flaunted.

I feel your pain. Odd that an item would be up in fast grab for just a short time when most other things there are up for days.
I don't know if it still works the same, but it used to be that FastGrab was on sale until a limited number of copies had been sold at the lower price. The number sold was visible on the product page, so you could see how likely it was that you'd be able to get it. If an item like Lee 6 was on a sale like that, it'd sell out incredibly quickly, which would explain the situation you described. Items that nobody wanted would hang around until the FastGrab items were refreshed - again, as you described.
Obviously, if the way the FastGrab is run is still the same, it's only fair to make sure that people know what their chances are of getting an item they've wanted for so long, especially when not everybody lives in the US and therefore can't check the FastGrab items as soon as they're put up, or buy an item immediately.
i guessed as much, that it was in direct relation to how many were sold.
and i totally agree with you, it actually was my point, that time zones should be taken in consideration.
I've had similar happen, discovering due to forum posts, that I've just missed an offer. It is annoying. In my case I have a credit card I have for internet transactions, I also usually pay via PayPal.
Have you considered using paypal? Or perhaps buy a gift voucher? Save that credit for emergencies.
never. i have a strong dislike for paypal for different reasons. my debit card is the best solution for me, and it always works flawless. i don't visit any auction type sites where decisions have to be taken in a very short time. and it is not my business to modify my paying system just because a shop has a flawed, unfair, inadapted sales system that doesn't take time zones into account. for all i know, i might have been sleeping... if fast grab was always that quickly changing, i'd say bad luck maybe. but when the lenght of time in during which items are included varies between rapid 12-16 hrs and 5 boring days, or when from 24 items of the same batch 12 disappear too quick while the rest remains, i have a problem. i feel other customers were lucky while i wasn't. when i get angry it is immediately reflected in my shopping attitude (for those who know, rendo hasn't profited of my customership since july)
Since i couldn't get my lee6 at a bargain price i also deleted the rest of my cart.
It would be nice if there was a set time period- how hard would it be to have it changeover (if it does, at all- sometimes things are there for days on end) at the same time the site changes over? If the web team doesn't know how to make things simple and dependable, they need to find out how.
While at times I've been tempted to dump my cart, if I'm getting those other items on sale, no way am I going to penalize myself and make a decision based on anger. IMO you're only hurting yourself if you really could have used those items. (note the "if.") But I know it felt good to hit those Remove From Cart buttons! I'm sorry that happened to you, particularly if you've been waiting to use it.
Everything eventually goes back on sale, I am surprised at a year. I've seen almost everything go 50% or more in 6 months. There's summer sales, fall sales, and winter sales. Some of that though, is unfortunately buying 3 things to get those discounts, so again, I understand the frustation of missing a straight 60 or 70% off. You are absolutely right that a logical approach needs to be implemented- but you do know you're a long way down the list of people who have already said that about Fast Grab AND Flash Sales.
Is it?
You just missed a great opportunity on what you wanted to get.
What about putting just 10-15 Dollars here as store credit - that is not that much and you could buy FG things at once when you see them.
there are many other advantages, or rather lack of disadvantages, like getting your bank account plundered when a site gets hacked. anyways it's not what i'm discussing here, i'm complaining about what i mentioned above. plus, my card will work just peachy when i decide to not miss the great opportunity another shop is offering me together with more than enough time to make decisions and fill my card, not to mention lower prices. win win situation: daz gets to play with fastgrab, i get a bargain somewhere else, everybody is happy ~
Exactly, the choice is yours and has nothing to do with the DAZ "flawed' system. Either keep some funds avaliable for a quick purchase or risk this happening again. You mention security, you have more chances of having your debit card and bank account compromised thru your keyboard and malware than you do thru using paypal
Every business has the right to handle sales or other special offers in the way that best suits the needs of the business. There have been many times I have missed out on a flash sale because I was at work , out doing leisure activities on a weekend, or away from my computer for other reasons. When that happens, I shrug, mutter a couple of mild profanities, and move on. The items will usually be back on sale at some future point anyway.
it's always amusing to see that a tactic that could be considered as questionable actually gets SUPPORT from the people. oh but wait, it's exactly how it works with politics and the voters. i'm sure that everyone blaming me and tapping marketing here on the shoulder will get cookies. i hope they taste great... *shrug*.. a friend of mine'd say "who are you working for?" ~
3d is for me a hobby, my life/income doesn't depend on it. there are at least 3 big shops that also sell quality items. and from the thousands of freebies legally available on the net, at least a quarter are quite good to perfectly level with sold products. not even mentioning that every time i goggle for an info or a thread about something 3d, i stumble on dozens of links for warez, the exactly same products sold here and elsewhere, which i ignore just because of my awe and great respect for 3d creators. and my hd is so full i will need 10 years to use all the 3d items on it. so, do i really NEED to arrange myself to suit a vending niche that i consider, yes, FLAWED? i guess not. and according to the post above, i'm not the only one complaining about how fastgrab is managed. news flash: not all of those unhappy people lack practical liquidity, but they all find it sucks.
anyways i won't be argumenting any further or writing further comments here, i have other things to do. it's my perfect right, as a customer, to complain or communicate my opinion, i've done so, i know marketing won't care, and i won't either. moving on.
