No way to respond to gallery comments?

I thought I remembered being able to leave comments on our own images so that we could at least answer questions or thank those who have left comments before. Now I don't seem to be able to find a way to do that.

Just wanted to thank those who have commented on my recent image and I really hope DAZ will at some point be able to implement a way to respond to comments in the image like as we can at deviantArt and most online galleries.

    I don't think I remember that - I'm pretty sure we couldn't respond to a comment that someone had left, and I've always remembered wishing we COULD (and the person gets a notification, like DA) If someone takes the time to comment on my art, I always feel bad if I can't at least say "thank you!" to them for taking the time to do it.

    If you view your image from the public gallery or go to "My gallery" -> "View your page" (to the upper right on the screen) and view the image from there, you can comment on your own picture just like you comment on others.

    AFAIK, it doesn't let anyone know that you responed to them though, unless they come back to your image and checks the comments again.

    That's a feature that would be very helpful- one person took a lot of time to comment on most of my gallery (hadn't done anything in a long time, so that was a nice suprise)  and I couldn't figure out a way to respond using the gallery. Thought it was only me, not knowing how to putz around in that section. It's another reason why I like the Art Studio section, as chit chat on the thread can be followed by subscribing to the thread. Would be awesome for the gallery to get up to speed with that.

    I always say thanks or write some sort of reply with the name of who ever commented on my image so they knew I was responding to their comment just assumed they saw it but that would be a nice feature to add though some might complain about getting to many emails or stalking got that on facebook few times commented on stuff on a friend's page that someone else did too and then that person complained I was stalking them because they got notifications of me commmenting on our mutal friend's post

    I enjoy these forums too for the most part anyway too Novica talking to the vendors and what they have planned/working on and seeing stuff from other artists are doing and just hanging out as it were is inspiring this hobby means so much to me always been a creative artistic person working in different mediums doing pinup and fantasy from drawing, sculpting, photo manipulation and now thanks to daz can do what I always wanted to do. When I went fully blind from cateracts I greatly missed doing this one of the things I kept thinking about and what I had planned to do when I got my eyesight back which was almost a year and when I finally got one fixed then couple months later the other I really got back into this in a big way so again yeah this hobby means a lot to me

    I posted a request here about 2 months ago asking for this very functionality. The post died a very lonely albeit quick death. No moderator, administrator or janitor bothered to acknowledge my query.

    Isdorn: Thanks, I was trying to comment from the Edit page and not while viewing it like a regular visitor. Duh.   :)

    I think it would certainly help the community and promote more feedback and interaction between artists if replying to comments could be implemented at some point. Maybe Etrigan's request did not go completely unheard (they usually don't, someone does get around to reading them).

    That's a shame. Perhaps the request can be kept alive longer this time?

    Well, for the record then I want to be able to:

    1. follow a favorite artist (notification for new uploads). 
    2. be able to PM from a gallery comment (i.e. click on the commenter's name and have the option to PM).
    3. if I comment, "subscribe" me to that thread (with option to unsubscribe). It seems rare for a gallery comment thread to exceed 10-15 posts.

    Currently, the only way I can get access to a commenter is to search for the user's name in the forums and PM from there. I'm not sure that it's a good idea to promote running conversations in the gallery. Especially if it affects the "score" of an image. But I've had questions as to how I achieved something and it would be nice to have that brief conversation without starting a forum thread. Perhaps this functionality can be limited to YOUR gallery for you to respond about your art, but not necessarily have third party conversations running on gallery pages.
