How do shrink a transparency map?

The Transparency map that comes with the package is (4096 x 4096) but that by itself with nothing else in the scene takes up over 5meg. How do I change the map to 2048x2048 or 1024x1024

You can do it with Scene Optimizer on the fly, or open the image in an image editor and save. If you save over the original, the original will be lost. Else you could save your original with a new name.
