Why is dForce creating eldritch horrors on sitting poses?

Hi folks,

I'm at my wits' end trying to figure out what's going wrong here, and I'm hoping someone who's played more with dForce can help me.

So here is the setup I'm using:

When I simulate this in a standing pose (e.g. G9 Base Pose 17 Standing G9F), it works fine and simulates quickly:

When I choose a sitting pose (e.g. G9 Base Pose 03 Laying Back G9F), however, it takes forever to simulate (almost an hour!) and produces the following monstrosity:

Both the sash and the hood have exploded into some sort of non-euclydian geometry, and I can't do anything with them to make them sensible again.

Does anybody know why this is happening and, more importantly, how to fix it?

  • It's the knife and the bow causing the problems.

The simplest solution would be to hide those two items then simulate.

or turn off Visible in Simulation, which you don't then have to remember to reverse before rendering.

Hmm... Well, that's kind of disappointing given that the weapons are part of the set so I would have expected them to play nicely. I don't claim to understand how dForce does what it does, though, so perhaps that's a naive hope!

Anyway, turning them off did indeed solve the problem. Thank you both. heart

when you simulate an item it will simulate the resulting shape of the item against everything in the scene by default,For instance you don't need to include a head or feet or eyelashes to simulate a robe, but you may need to include the shirt underneath. The more you can exclude the faster the software can calculate the simulation without the lovecraftesque anomalies at the end. There are several different plugins from the daz store which might speed the prep time up if you plan to use this feature often.
