Daz is experimenting with a 10 am MST store launch for the time being.

MST is strictly speaking UTC-7, but during daylight saving time, can I understand it as being updated at 10 am UTC-6 (MDT)?

you is asking the wrong person, lol

You mentioned "10 am MST," so I was asking how it works during daylight saving time. Was that not your statement?

Are you saying that you’re just relaying what you heard from DAZ and can’t answer questions about it?

They're in Utah, so yes probably MDT currently.

    Thanks, Leana.

    Thank you, Leana and Cris.

    I understand now.

MST is equivalent to UTC-7, and when I see "10 am MST," I interpret it as 5 pm UTC.

So, given that it’s daylight saving time now, I was asking if it’s correct to assume that the DAZ STORE updates at "10 am MDT" = 4 pm UTC.

For people living in the U.S., where the time zone is directly experienced, it might be obvious that "10 am is 10 am" regardless of summer or winter. However, for those of us living in countries outside the U.S., especially in places without daylight saving time, understanding which time zone is being referred to is very important. I hope you can appreciate this perspective.

It's very important for those in the US too. Continental US has 4 time zones and some states do and some states don't use day light savings time. Hawaii and Alaska have another 2 time zones than the rest of the rest of the states. So the states have 6 time zones with some using and some not using daylight savings time. For me daz midnight has traditionally been 2am. Will be happy when day light savings time is done away with and gmt-5 is always what I care about.

An experimental 10am MST release time?  That's a strangely specific adjustment.  I'm sure Daz has data to support this, but I have a routine of having my breakfast with coffee and browsing the store in the morning.  I'm in EST and also like to check the forums before I head out for the day to consider what, if anything, I'm going to buy.  Change is rarely embraced, especially with a consumer base like us.

Basically they're switching to a time when there are actually people in office at Daz. That had been suggested in the past when there were lots of sales not working (which is the case currently) so that there would be someone able to fix the sales directly if needed.
There might be additional reasons, of course.

I hope it works out. Someone has been put in charge who doesn't think SNAFU is a viable plan. So, we get the Outlet store and a new release time. I like this person.

I would think it was allowing an hour to sort out the inital morning stuff, then doing releases.

I hope it also ensures sales are rolled out without any issues.

It really does make sense, I think.

Just gotten home from work and am now waiting for the roll-over, stupidly excited about whether it will happen at the time I calculated or not. Ah well, simple joys, simple joys ...

Huh, I must be getting something wrong. According to web, 10 am MST is right now, but the store seems the same to me. Is it really me or is the experimenting still going on maybe, and they're trying different times?

Edit: Ah, here we go ...

The epic phases sale is back but as far as I can see, while the banner is about Phase 1, the sale page is still speaking about Phase 2:

On my computer, the page is stuck on Phase 2. On my phone, the page is stuck on page 4.

In my environment, new products and a new sale page were definitely published at 10 am MDT.

It does sometimes take a while for things to settle, and for the caches (Cloudflare?) to propagate/update.

Earlier this morning the Epic sale was gone from the Shop home page. It's back now, says Phase 1, and still takes me to the Phase 2 page. No refreshing changes this.

Does this also change the official definition of a DAZ day? (ie midnight to midnight Utah time). In particular for when tokens expire, but also for when sales deals roll over, and when double tokens are earned.

    This is an interesting point.

And so this isn't just a me too. Hey, I finally see Phase 1 in my browsers. I hope they start using separate pages for this in the future since this was probably an upstream caching issue.

Apparently the shift to 10AM MST hasn't smoothed out all the glitches. In today's sale page, the Tools & Effects section contains the line "Second line of copy has bs5-mb-5", which is ... probably not intended?

The link to today's featured artists' legacy items is broken. It sends to https://www.daz3d.com/lassic-must-have-artists instead of https://www.daz3d.com/classic-must-have-artists

Alrady reported and fixed (but you may be seeing a cached version)

Letting us know what to expect is not Daz's forte.

Everything at Daz3D is a big secret. We don't know why, because that too is a big secret.

    Good one.

When did 2/4 start on the memorial day sale? I wasn't expecting part 2 until the new release time, 10am MST.

Did the people in charge of the store changed their mind and get back to the older time to start a new day or is it a mistake if today, the sale started around the previous usual time ?

We were talking in chat and saw the post in here and Cris was like, did they change it back on us and forgot to tell us? So, Daz got a 1am wake-up call from us to figure it out. Yes, they returned it to normal release schedule. Let us know of any issue as usual.
