Confused About Anemone for G2F

I was reading the information on the page to see what is needed to use this character and was relieved that is said only Genesis2 Female.  However, as I read further I noticed it said this (Anemone Creature Presets) and now wonder if I need more then just the G2F base to use her.  All this mention of shapes and presets but does not say if you need any morph packs.  Does anyone know what is needed to use this character?

If you need to know where to find her...

I don't have Annemone but the presets are most probably included for convenience. You can either load the human form or the creature form without having to dial it in on your own. At least that's how I understand this. V7 comes with a V7 character preset too - you can either load G3female and dial in V7 shape or you can load the preset from the content library.

I am pretty sure everything needed is included in the package. *Including* Ninive 6's UVs. I am now suspecting that some of the promos are using skins from the Lady of the Lake packsge (which was for those UVs), and most of the new morphs (webed hands, etc.) get added to that collection if you have it. They will probably work without that package, but they constitute an add-on.

I think the Anemonie Creature Presets are new ones specifically for Anemonie. You do not have to have the G2F Creature creator to get what's shown in the promos.

Well I just checked all the creature morph packs available for the G2 series and did not find anything that looks like the hands and feet this character has, but that don't mean I don't need those packs.  Most give a complete list of necessities to use characters, so I am surpised it's not more clear with this one.  I am familiar with the presets function and really like having that choice.  It does mention custom anatomy for feet and hands which sounds hopeful since I am limited on spending this month.

I also just noticed hair is under the custom anatomy yet I thought that was sold seperately, so still need further information about this product.

The descripion at the bottom states it includes

    Anemone Custom Anatomy: (.DUF)

    • Anemone Crest
    • Anemone Feet
    • Anemone Fins
    • Anemone Gills
    • Anemone Hands
    • Anemone Hair

I'm pretty sure the presets are jyst refering to presets to load them, but it definitely includes all the geometry.

I'm pretty sure it includes all the figure materials shown that arent ninive or the lady of the lake textures. (the desription says it includes textures that match them for the added body parts) So the two textures in the main image are included.

Thank you, by the way, this got me to double check what's included and it pushed me over into buying it.  She's adorable and that is a lot that's included.

Thank you everyone and it has helped me to decide as well.

I admit I found this confusing as well. I'm not sure I understand what the difference is the Anemone Human Character Preset, and the head and character bodyshape.

I like some of the skins, and would like to use those on a more alien human-proportioned lady. But not sure haow that would work since she appears sort of more toon-like.

I picked her up this morning and yes she comes with pretty much everything you would need, including the Nineve 6 UV, but not the actual body skins for Nineve or Lady of the Lake (just the materials for her attachments that would go with those skins). Without any of the Nineve products, she still has three textures all her own; a basic skin, cephelopod, and striped cephelopod. Loading the full character into DAZ and checking the currently used morphs showed only the Anemone morphs, no creature creator. The hair does come with her and has a handful of poses (divided by left and right) and three pose sliders. The Pose 1 slider is pretty much the same as one of the preset poses, but Pose 2 and 3 sliders are different...so basically 5 different poses, not counting mixing/matching.

Thank you for that Hoppity, now I just hope she is on sale during Saturday as my cheque won't be in till morning. I tried to read the emails about the sale but no dates are given.

I've got her too now and yep, what Hoppitty said. Only thing I'm missing a bit is Iray shaders but guess applying the G2Female Iray shaders would do the trick.

Sure! Would love to see what the texture looks like on Stragiht V6- but only if you can spare the time. =-)

  • I saw the "hair" and bought it for that.  Then we I ran it I noticed it came with all the other things.  My "punishment" for not reading the page.  cheeky

Thanks Havos! I appreciate that. =-) And funny thing, Lady of the lake I put in my cart, and is deeply discounted today. So if anyone wants her... Pick her up. =-)

I think I need to get this and GenX, finally. It occurs to me I have a bunch of Genesis/Genesis 2 morphs I would really like to mix.

(Anyone know if GenX would make it possible to use Bot Genesis for Genesis2, by any chance?)

If you had Gen x, you could make a male morph for Victoria 2.

The problem I see with Bot 2, is the makeup seems a touch feminine and the torso is designed to emphasize breasts.  Here is Bot Armor 2 applied to FW Nalin. - the nipple morph, which looked odd.

Gen X is for transferring morphs, whereas Bot Genesis looks to me like there are at least some geografts (I don't have it so I can not be certain how it works), in addition to any morphs. Gen X does not transfer geografts.

Well, if I apply Bot Genesis to a Genesis 2 figure, it works, it just doesn't hide/morph/whatever the underlying figure properly. So I'm wondering if the combination of autofit and GenX2 (with Genesis 2 addon, etc) would do the trick.

I'll let everyone know, since I'm pretty sure GenX(etc) will be in my next batch of purchases.

If you look at what came with Bot Genesis you should see any morphs under the data/Daz 3D/Genesis. These can be transferred with Gen X and may help the product transfer even better. If body parts are being hidden, chances are this is being done by the load duf and is simply setting the visibility of a particular body part. This is not a morph and will not transfer, but you can create you own apply duf files that hide the equivalent part of Genesis 2.

Regardless of how well it works with the Bot Armor I would still heartily recommend Gen X, as it allows you to move a lot of older characters/morphs onto the newer generation of figures. You can actually do a lot of what Gen X does for free using the transfer utility, but Gen X makes the whole job much easier and quicker. It may seem pricey for the base and the needed expansion packs, but it well worth picking up during a sale period.

Yeah, it's wishlisted. I have a lot of cool morphs that are stuck under one figure or another, and being able to mix would be awesome.

I have to say that she is one of the few things I did NOT have to decide buy...

I've autofitted the 'parts' to G2M and they work well.  The only problem is a good skin texture.

You can use the included textures on G2M. I just tried and it works fine, no seams. Morph transfered well too, only needed to get rid of the boobies.

Yeah, one of the things I really like about Genesis 1&2 is the ability to swap textures around.

I don't tend to render doll-like characters but all the items, the crest, the hands, the feet, apply nicely as autofit, so you don't have to dial-in the base shape at all if you don't want to. . The striped texture and the extra textures so you can use lady of the lake work welll on both male and female characters.

Would love it if the PA who made this, makes more unusual skins. They look good. Nicely done.

The 'human' texture just didn't seem 'rugged' enough on G2M...the other texture isn't too bad.

Overall, I'm very happy I grabbed her...great set and useful.

I admit I was skeptical of Anemone at first, and I thus apologize, because I like her- at least her extras are great.

That is the problem with some DO products, the artist behind them often remains anonymous.

I found the two that I like best are actually lady of the lake and the striped one on the male. The human texture was too girly for me, and got a pass.

If people want the hair to work on gen 2 male, I found using a gen 2 male morph for gen 2 female works pretty well.

Well, yeah, but it's pretty obviously a Thorneworks/Handspan Studio product. She has a highly recognizable style -- and does quality work.
