You solved a problem I could not so far: Body collision. Can you share how you did this? It is within the character blueprint right?

    About the "braid-shape problem":

Upon importing the hair you have the option" interpolation settings" with Guide type.

Try riggedg guides. With a low count. 1 is even enough. In the Physics tab: The collision radius should be increased vastly.

There is a "force visible" in the physics tab of my groom, it displays red physics-shapes. Example screenshot: 1 rigged guide with a collision radius of 3. This will keep the braid shape and it should still collide.

Best option: Create Hair guides yourself, within Maya or Blender. While I found a maya tutorial, I did not find a solution for blender.

If you choose "imported guides" without even setting up guides. It will create a mess of guides. I had hundreds of red sticks within my hair. :-D

You can aswell try "generated guides" with a very low density. 0,001. This will also create a single line of collision boxes.
